Annual Report The Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College Parent Teacher and Friend Association (the PTFAI purpose is: To provide engagement opportunities for staff, students and their families, with the aim to enrich the provision of opportunities forthe benefit of the students, educational experience. To support the school's vision and areas for development with a focus on 'community engagement., To promote Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College in the local community. To organise events and/or activities that advance or enrich the educational experience of the students. To raise funds that can be directed to support the needs of the school community. Public Beneflt The Trustees of the PTFA have ensured they have always considered and promoted public benefit in its operations. Governance The Bangor Academy & Slxth Form College PTFA is governed wlthln the rules laid down in its Constitution. The PTFA has close link5 With Bangor Academy & Sixth Form College but is independently governed by volunteer Trustees. Only the members of the PTFA can appoint Trustees. The Trustees who sep4ed during the year were: Lauren Elliott Maeve Henning Laura Skelton (resigned 2411/20231 Gillian Murrav Revlew of the year and actlvltles BAPTFA applied for and gained Charity status in January 2023. Banking arrangements were then sought but took until later in the year to be initiated. Until such time the PTFA was grateful that the school was able to hold in safekeeping cash raised through fundraisin8 activities. The PTFA, whilst still in its infancy within Bangor Academy, has recognised the need to encourage and develop engagement between the school, students, families, and the local community. All parents, carers and pupils attending the school are encouraged to become involved in and support fundraising activities. In the past Academic year, fundraising activities included Bag packin8 by the Sixth Form, Bake-off event, Christmas card design and sales, pre-loved uniform sale. Through local fundraising and school community engagement we have been able to develop additional resources which will support pupils within the school and their families who have been directly impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.

I report on the account5 of the Trust for the year ended 30 June 2024, which are set out on page 3. Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner. As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under sectlon 65 of the Charltles Act follow the procedures laid down In the general Directlons given by the Commission under sectEon 65(91{bl of the Charities Act state whether matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examiner's report have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65{91{bl of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matter5. My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe: l. That accountln8 records were not kept In accordance wlth section 63 of the Charities Act 2.
