TRUSTEE'S REPORT FOR THE PERIOD 1 APRIL2023 TO 31 MARCH 2024
The purpose of the society as defined in its constitution approved on 31 October
2022 is as follows:
To study the history, environment, folklore and antiquities of the
Binevenagh and valley of the Roe basin area.
Raise awareness in Ihe general public and encourage appreciation
and knowledge of the historical, environmental arKI cultural heritage
of the area.
{iii) To establish Society archives and to support members maintaining
and preserving same.
(iv) To hold lectures and discussions and to organise research visits for
Society members.
To receive, preserve, transcribe or publish source materials,
including documents and monumentsl inscriptions, provided there is
no infringement of copyright and written pemiission has been
obtained from the rightful owner, to copy such records. Suc
material to remain the property of the Society.
(vi) To work in conjunction with similar societies and supportive bodi
such as churches, libraries, record offices and educalional
establishments.

The Society is governed by its constitution dated 31 October 2022. The power to
appoint new trustees is vested in the Trustees.

At the year end the Twst held no fvnds arKI had no liabilities.
The Trustees ensured the aims and objectives of the Society's Constitution was met
through continued promotion of local history and folklore through archive visits,
delivering talks and participating in projects designed to encourage communty
involvement.
This was evidenced in the number of activities through which local groups were
provided with exhibitions, talks and 8UPPOrt.
