## Activities

**Purposes:** The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of, and visitors to, Hilltown and its environs (the area of benefit”) without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion and in particular to:- (1) Advance community development and citizenship by all or any of the following means: (i) provide facilities for and organise community and family events and other recreation and leisure time occupations for the public at  large or for those individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, disabilities or social or economic circumstance; (ii) provide facilities, amenities and support to community and  voluntary groups and organisations and promote partnerships and  joint ventures and activities between such groups and  organisations, and public sector and civic-minded agencies, bodies  and organisations; (iii) promote active citizenship and volunteering in the community; (iv) foster a sense of community by encouraging and celebrating a  sense of place, civic pride and an appreciation of all aspects of  local heritage; (v) manage land and buildings for the benefit of the community and  visitors to the area and safeguard community assets for the  community and voluntary sector. (2) Advance heritage, culture and the arts by: (i) preserving, restoring, maintaining and improving, for the public  benefit, the former St. John’s Church in Hilltown, a Grade 2 listed  building of historical, cultural and architectural interest; (ii) enhancing and protecting the overall built heritage landscape of  Hilltown; (iii) either alone or in association with others, organising and presenting artistic and cultural activities, events, performances and festivals  and encouraging and facilitating community participation in the  arts. (3) Promote education and learning by delivering and/or providing facilities for classes, workshops, training courses and other forms of tuition and raise awareness of issues and matters by providing information and advice. (4) Promote health and wellbeing by providing facilities for and supporting health promotion programmes and advisory clinics.
