Encourage women to help and support other women in Warrenpoint and the surrounding area. 2. CARRYING OUT THE CHARITY'S PURPOSES Raise funds, receive grants & donations- Funds are raised through our £5 annual membershipfee and attendancefee of £21£3 non-members) to most events. Donations received this year from Warrenpoint Harbour, Southern Agewell gift voucher, small person81 cash donations Grants received- Lottery> Art Council, Clear Project (Developing Healthy Communities) b. Apply funds to carry out the work of the charity Funds are to pay for or subsidise the cost of transport, admission and refreshments to our many day trips, weekend trips & celebrations Ixmas, IWD, Cork etcl. This ensures the cost to the members is as affordable as possible, enabling some to attend that may not otherwise be able to. The type of events & trips consider and encourage women to cometogether as a group & engagewith each other-the committee actively support any new members by means of'buddying'with an existing member. c. Co-opérat8 with and support othèr charities with similar charitable purposés. WWG are involved with a number of charity initiatives including SERC Peace Plus Programme, Breast Cancer Awareness, Caring Coins, Shared Threads, Simon Community othÈrWomen's Groups le.g. MWG, Crossgarl. allfocused on promoting the wellbeing & development ofwomen of all ages d. Do anything which is lawful and necessary to achieve the charity's purposes. The group is promoted via secure social media and local advertising with the aim to reach as many ladies as possible in Warrenpoint and the surrounding towns & villages. The committee promote the group wherever possible when attending other charitylgroup events, the group rely on & thankfully receive the support of sever81 local businesses and in return promote the same wherever possible le.g. fashion show, purchase raff le prizes etc.) No person Is excluded from Jolnlngthe group and new merrbers are supported where possible to meet any needs they may have. Afew ofthe committee have attended a Safeguarding course to help support the members if required. The type of events held are wide and varied with the aim to ensure that there is something for everyone, from strength & balance to canvas painting to cooking demos. Determining trip destinations also take into consideration members physical needs, ensuring location or venue is accessible for as many of the group as possible. Risk assessments are carried out for each trip and action taken to mitigate the likelihood of a risk event occurring. Membership is registered and monitored with all members details held securely and never shared outside of the group. Wellbeing checks are made on any member who has previously attended regularly but not attended recently- more so in the winter months. VWG is for all ladies of any religion, race or political opinion. The group has no bias towards nor intentionally promotes any of the same.
