The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 May 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).

Achievements and Activities

  1. MNL delivered a number of music, performance and skills workshops and created numerous opportunities for musical endeavor for our beneficiaries.

  2. MNL Volunteers trialed music notation software to assist music learning and content creation.

  3. MNL were invited to participate in ABC Council festivals.

  4. MNL delivered a sold out intergenerational music workshop using content created by volunteers and students.

  5. MNL recruited a new Trustee.

Events Organized/Participated in by Music Not Limits:

  1. Home of St. Patrick’s Festival: The annual Home of St. Patrick’s Festival in Armagh in March 2025 featured young musicians who performed a set of live music. Funding was received from Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council for the event.

  2. Home of St. Patrick’s Festival: Young musicians helped deliver an intergenerational education workshop. Funding was received from Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council for the event.

  3. Music at Triple A: Music Not Limits performed music and facilitated movement and singing events for the Triple A (Adults with Autism Armagh) organisation. These events, delivered at Sherry’s Field recreation facility in Armagh, provided participants the opportunity to engage with musical endeavors, including trying out instruments, singing, playing, and dancing. MNL volunteers were the main performers at the event.

  4. Fleadh: MNL ran a very successful Trad for Tots event for parents and children.

Financial Review

MNL posted a deficit of £861.00 however although the income of the charity dropped during this period output was positive and income increased following the reporting period. There are no current uncertainties regarding the charity’s sustainability, and further grant funding projects and applications are underway.

We currently have no assets and hope to acquire the following assets in the coming period to enable effective project delivery:

Charitable Objects

  1. To advance education including all forms of performing and visual art with special reference to the disciplines of music, song, poetry, and storytelling;

  2. To advance the arts, culture, heritage, and science;

  3. To relieve those in need by reason of disability, financial hardship, youth, age, ill health or other disadvantage by improving access to education especially in the areas of the arts, culture heritage and science;

  4. To promote good physical and mental health and relieve physical and mental disability by providing or assisting in providing music, song, poetry, and storytelling;

  5. To advance human rights, conflict resolution, reconciliation and promote equality and diversity;

  6. To promote community development and provide opportunities for social, artistic, and cultural interaction;

  7. To promote any other charitable purpose as may from time to time be determined by the Directors/Trustees.

Public Benefit Statement

The trustees can confirm that this charity has complied with the requirement of the Charity Commission on the Public benefit and its activities in the year 2024-2025 has been in accordance with those purposes.

We have strived to increase access to musical endeavor for beneficiaries through music, dance, and the arts, regardless of disadvantage whether economic, through disability, or otherwise. Through our activities for this period, MNL has helped to:
