The Trustees present their report and accounts for Braid Valley Community First Responders for year ended 31 March 2024.
Public Benefit Statement
The Trustees of Braid Valley Community First Responders confirm that they have had due regard for the guidance on the Public Benefit by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and are pleased to report that during the period, the group continued to provide the Public Benefit through the programmes and services on offer. In particular, the Trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they are set.
Public Benefit
The direct benefits that flow from our purpose are to recruit, coordinate and equip local volunteers. Volunteers will be trained and alerted by NI Ambulance Service to assess and provide an appropriate intervention to those with appropriate medical emergencies in their localities.
Braid Valley Community First Responders carries out its purpose by providing resuscitation, care and support to a casualty pending the arrival of an emergency ambulance which will be dispatched simultaneously with the first responders.
Achievements and Performance
Following the creation of the group in February 2019, Braid Valley Community First Responders continued to fundraise throughout 2023-24. A special mention to the Ballymena Rotary Club who have continued to support our organisation this year as with the last number of years. Funds raised were again invested in equipment for the volunteer responders.
Braid Valley Community First Responders is a non-profit making organisation. The total income for the period amounted to £2,412 (2023: £3,353). The income entirely derived from donations and gifts.
Total expenditure for the period amounted to £978 (2023: £1,487).
The net income for the period amounted to £1,434 (2023: £1,866) with net assets of £7,774 at 31 March 2024; represented by £7,774 of unrestricted funds. The Trustees consider that Braid Valley Community First Responders is in a satisfactory position to carry on its charitable activities.
