TRUSTEE’S REPORT YEAR ENDING 5 APRIL 2025
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The Church acknowledges the headship of Jesus Christ over his Church and exists to glorify the triune God by maintaining and promoting his worship both individually and corporately.
Its members devote themselves to the teachings of Scripture, to fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer and evangelism. They commit, with the help of God, to witness to the saving and sustaining power of the Lord Jesus Christ and to work for the extension of His Kingdom.
The principal charitable object of the church is the advancement of the Christian faith according to the teachings of Scripture, the Doctrinal Statement and Baptist principles.
The activities of the Church include:

regular services for public worship, prayer, bible study and teaching for various age groups

providing pastoral care to the congregation through visitation and prayer

organising meetings that promote our charitable purpose

participating in the life of the local community

supporting other Christian organisations and charities through volunteering, financial gifts and prayer.
The trustees have paid due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the church should undertake.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The church meets the public benefit requirement by providing benefit to its members and the general public by making known the Christian gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of the Christian faith.

Below is a summary of the church activities throughout the year:

regular Sunday morning and evening service and a weekly prayer meeting on Tuesday night to teach the bible and proclaim the gospel. Some of these services are streamed on Facebook and reach a wider audience in the community.

Sunday School and Bible Class on Sunday mornings, during school ‘term time’.

- Amonthly meeting ina local Sheltered Housing Complex

Asummer Holiday Bible Club which runs for a week and ends with a Family fun night open to the community.

A fortnightly drop in on a Friday evening for the teenagers of the town.

- Distribution of approximately 700 Gospel Calendars to the homes in the vicinity of the church.

Work in local schools through speaking in Assemblies and also the ‘Amazing Journey’ event which is a department of Baptist Youth.

Supporting other groups that we have an interest in and this year we had visits from missionaries who work in places such as Pakistan, Romania, Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland.
FINANCIAL OVERVIEW
The church recorded a net surplus for the year of £432.
Closing unrestricted reserves at 5 April 2025 were £13,951
Closing restricted reserves at 5 April 2025 were £536 representing funds held for youth work. There are no funds held by the church that are materially in deficit.
