The meeting was called to order by Therese Hume, the chairperson.
Mo Hume, as secretary, was asked to keep the minutes.
Chairperson's address
The John and Pat Hume Derry Trust was incorporated on 24th October 2022 as a charity.
This report covers the period I st Jaiiuary 2024 to 31 st December 2024.
The Purposes of the Charity
The John and Pat Hume Derry Trust has been established for the education
of persons in the field of peace, the understanding of peaceful activities and
the achievement of conflict resolution through dialogue and mutual understanding.
Iii particular it aims to ensure that the Peace Prizes awarded to John Hume
and other relevant archival materials can play a role in the education for conflict
resolution.
What the charity has done during the period under review to carry out its purposes
its aL'tivities
The ownership of the Peace Prizes, archival materials and other artefacts have been
transferred to this Trust from the Estate of Pat Hume
This is to ensure that they will be held in trust for the benefit of the public and cannot
be used for the individual benefit of Ihe Trustees.
The Nobel, Martin Luther King and the Mahatma Gandhi prizes were loaned to the Derry City
and Strabane Council.
During the year a the Loan Agreement between the Trust and the Derry City and
Strabane Council was renewed.
The Prizes continue to be on loan to the Dery City and Strabane District Council,
where they are on public displa)..

Archival materials and other artefacts are also on loan to the Derry City and Strabane Council
under a sÉmilar agreement.
The archival materials and other artefacts are in secure storage with the Museum Service until
a suitable location is found that will permit public access.
Details of how the activities of the charity has provided a benefit to the beneficiaries and
how this has been demonstrated - the achievements of the charity.
The Nobel, Martin Luther King and the Mahatma Gan(Ihi Peace Prizes have been on pemianent
exhibition in the Guildhall. Derry, since l Oth December 202?
They are freely available for viewing by the general public, in the interests of education for
peace and confiict resolution.
The number of signatures recorded in the Visitors, Books with the accompanying comments
shows the interest in the exhibition.

It is envisaged that following cataloguing and curation activities, other materials will be made
available to the public via appropriate access methods.
A statement of compliance Trvith the Commission's guidance.
In setting oiit objectives and planning our activities for the period under review the Trustees
have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland Guidance on
public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity's purposes and
provide a benefit to the public.
