This proposal was seconded by John Hume As there was no other proposal, Mo Hume w&s appointed as secretary. Chairperson's address The John and Pat Hume Derry Trust was incorporated on 24th October 2022 as a charity. This report covers the period 24th October 2022 to 31 st December 2023. The Purposes of the Charity The John and Pat Hume Derry Trust has been established for the education of persons in the field of peace, the understanding of peaceful activities and the achievement of conflict resolution through dialogue and mutual understanding. In particular it aims to ensure that the Peace Prizes awarded to John Hume and other relevant archival materials can play a role in education for peace - building resolution. What the charity has done during the period under revieiv to carry out its purposes - its a¢tivities The ownership of the Peace Prizes, archival materials and other artefacts have been transferred to this Trust from the Estate of Pat Hume This is to ensure that they will be held in trust for the benefjt of the public

and cannot be used for the individual b¢n¢fii of th¢ Tru5t¢cs. The Nokl. Martin Luther King the Mahatma Gandhi prizes were loaned to the Deny City and Strabane Council. The Prizes continue to be on loan to the Derry City and Strabane District Council. where th¢y are on public display. A formal written agreem¢ni is in place. A￿h1Val materials and other artefacts are also on loan io the Derry CÉty and Strabane Council under a similar agrecinent. The archival malerials and other artefacts are in secure storage with the Museum Service until a suithble locaiion is found tl)at will pellnir public access.
