Annual Report to Trustees for the Financial Year – 1[st] January 2023 to 31[st] December 2023
Introduction
The Pitt Park Residents Association is dedicated to promoting the well-being of the inhabitants of Lower Newtownards Road and Pitt Park, East Belfast. Our mission is to foster community development, support those in need, and improve the physical environment of our area.
For the year in question the following members served as trustees

Activities and Achievements
During the past year, we have successfully organized a range of community and art events aimed at tackling social isolation and building self-confidence among residents. These events included youth activities, pensioner gatherings, and cultural celebrations.
We celebrated the Kings Coronation with a street party and BBQ on 8[th] May which brought together hundreds of local residents to further foster the community spirit within the area.
We held a community BBQ and a Colour Run outdoor activity for local residents on 7[th] July
We celebrated the annual July festivities on the 11[th] July with a street party for the local community.
We held a 12 week arts and crafts session over August, September and October for local children.
At Halloween we held a pumpkin carving session for local children and held a Halloween party
In November created a ‘Row on Row’ remembrance garden for those in the community who wished to remember their loved ones. We held three services of remembrance in partnership with local churches across the week leading upto Remembrance Day.
At Christmas we held an Xmas movie night for local children and their parents and had hot chocolate, snacks and selection boxes.
Over the course of the year we have provided essential support to those facing poverty and disadvantage in the local community, including a weekly bread table facilitated by The Gathering Church, food parcels, gas and electricity assistance in partnership with The Skainos Centre and The Gathering Church.
We collected second hand school uniforms from within the local community and made them available to anyone who could make use of them.
Our efforts have been helpful in addressing the cost of living crisis and ensuring that vulnerable members of our community receive the help they need.
We’ve worked alongside statutory agencies and the neighbouring community to reduce tensions on the local interface and to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Future Plans Looking ahead, we plan to continue our community development initiatives and expand our support services. We aim to establish more partnerships with local organizations and secure additional funding to enhance our programs. Our goal is to create a stronger, more resilient community that can thrive despite economic challenges.
Conclusion The Pitt Park Residents Association remains committed to its mission of improving the lives of the inhabitants of Lower Newtownards Road and Pitt Park. We appreciate the support of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and look forward to continuing our work in the community.
