The trustees are pleased to present their report and financial statements for the year 1 July 2024 to 30" June 2025. The financial statements have been prepared ona ‘Receipts and Payments’ basis and the Trustees have had regard to the NI Charity Commission’s Public Benefit Guidance Our Purpose

The Trustees are pleased to report another successful year for the Newry Lions club
-
The club distributed £33,206 to sixteen charities. There is an emphasis on smaller local charities who regularly turn to the club in times of need. The charities funded by the club all use their funds consistent with the aims of the Newry Lions Club In addition, the Lions provided over 90 meals on Christmas morning to local people in need. Medical aids were collected from local civic amenity sites and some are used locally. The majority are forwarded to Africia and the Middle East to be reused. Reading Glasses are aonated through various community collection points, refurbishment and reused in third countries for a second life.

The talking newspaper team record stories from the local newspapers and sent it to over forty visually impaired listeners each week The club participated in the organisation and provided marshalling service at the Local vintage car snow and distributed the funds raised to local charities. The club also raised funds through its own Membership, annual Walk & Cycle, In Store collections and Lions Charter Ball.

The Lions Newry raised a total of £38,416 in the year and spend £37,922 leaving a closing bank balance of £2,124 The club has a policy of spending funds as received and has no other assets,
