Charitable objects 1. The charity was established to improve relationships between home and school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support.
-
- Advancing the education of pupils in the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding.
Organisational structure The charity is made up of a membership of both parents and staff who give their time on a voluntary basis and work collectively. The trustees meet regularly, administer the charity and make all policy decisions.
Review of activities and achievements We kicked off the year with a Halloween disco with two separate sessions. Pupils could make purchases from a tuck shop as well as tattoos and a lucky dip. We then organised a Santa Experience in December which pupils and their families thoroughly enjoyed. The Santa Experience included gifts from Santa, several craft activities, storytelling and refreshments, as well as craft stalls from the local community. We also held a summer fair with entertainment and a BBQ which was widely supported. Other fundraising events included a Beetle drive in March at which we held our Easter raffle and many local businesses and individuals donated prizes.
Volunteers The charity is grateful for the unstinting efforts of its trustees and other volunteers who have continually supported their activities and managementof the charity throughout the year. _
Financial review Total income of the charity during the year was £13,491, compared to £7,669 in the previous year. Total expenditure was £13,759, compared to £4,678 in the previous year.
Statement of trustees' responsibilities The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
-
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the year end and of its receipts and payments during that year. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
-
state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
-
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
