## **1. Introduction & Main Achievements** 

The trustees of Boston House are pleased to submit their report and accounts for the period July 1st 2024 to June 30th 2025. 

Boston House promotes social inclusion and active participation in community life for people living in Fermanagh and the surrounding area who are disadvantaged by reason of ill health or disability. 

Activities available on the premises include: 

Group counselling 1 to1 Counselling 

Creative Therapies 

Complementary Therapies 

Palliative/Bereavement workshops 

Makeup tutorials 

Nutritional workshops 

Aromatherapy workshops 

Yoga 

Coffee n Chat 

Meditation classes 

Mindfulness 

Health awareness workshops 

Bereavement Counselling 

Chi-Me 

Book Club 

Chair exercise classes 

Resilience workshops 

Movie Club 

Enterprise Workshop 

Boston House was created to provide social inclusion and active participation for people living with disabilities and ill health in Fermanagh and surrounding area. The main users to date include SWELL, a local Cancer Support Group, Cancer Focus, Macmillan, AWARE NI, Recovery College, DerryWell Women, Advice North West, Erne Paddlers and IPANCNI. All charities were consulted and members feedback 

clearly demonstrated the need for a dedicated safe space whereby participants could take part in activities and avail of support services to address their mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. SWELL Cancer Charity survey also clearly demonstrated the local need for people living with a cancer diagnosis. The over whelming consensus from all charities was a need for a dedicated permanent safe space for them to meet and participate in the many activities Boston House presently provides 

This year we have continued to support various charities by supporting them to use the facilities at Boston House. 

## **2. Charity Governance** 

The Charity is governed by a group of Trustees (as listed in section 8). 

## **Committee Meetings** 

The trustees hold monthly committee meetings that provides an opportunity for items to be brought forward and voted on. The agenda of the meeting always has the following standard items listed as a minimum: 

- a) Apologies 

- b) Attendance 

- c) Welcome 

- d) Treasurer Report 

- e) Action Updates 

- f) Funding Updates 

- g) Any Other Business 

Additional items that require committee approval are also added to the agenda when necessary. 

For an item to be passed, it requires a majority vote. 

## **AGM** 

Each year, the Chairperson of Boston House calls an Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM provides an opportunity for our members to reflect on the group’s achievements of the previous year, provide feedback and to propose/second individuals into the committee positions. 

## **Consultation with Members** 

Consultation is very important for Boston House – we recognise the need for a person living with ill health or disability to be heard. For this reason, trustees continually ask for feedback and ideas on initiatives that Boston House can take forward.

## **4. Summary** 

Within the reporting period, Boston House continued to expand its presence and delivery within County Fermanagh. 

This year Boston House has collaborated with the following users SWELL, a local Cancer Support Group, Cancer Focus, Macmillan, AWARE NI, Recovery College, DerryWell Women, Advice North West, Erne Paddlers and IPANCNI. 

We also engaged with over 500 individuals on a monthly basis, who attended various activities in the premises. 

In the next reporting year, we hope to able to focus on widening our delivery to benefit more people from the Fermanagh area who are affected by ill health and disabilities.
