OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB

McCullaghs ABC was set up to provide good quality boxing training for children, teenagers, young adults and the people of the community. The primary focus for mcCullaghs is to provide a safe space for these people so they can come together to learn a new sport in boxing and to educate them in exercise and that participating in sport will give them a positive outlook on their mental health and mind. This in turn enables young people to get off the streets so that they would not be tempted to engage in anti-social behaviour. Whilst searching for premises to open our club it was decided it would be fundamentally important to ensure it was situated in a neutral location so that people from all communities could avail of the club regardless of their religion, background, race or culture. McCullagh's is an inclusive club to all and aims to reconcile our communities together through boxing. In providing this outlet for kids and young adults, it will help to bring communities together after years of sectarianism and hope that children from different backgrounds and cultures can become friends and grow up with a different outlook in life which is especially important in Belfast. We aim to educate our group through sport and highlight what comes hand in hand with reconciling different communities in that it will stop anti-social behaviour and get children into the club and develop a positive mind set as they grow older. It should also be affordable for every child.
