To promote on a national level the charitable work of K9 Search and Rescue NI LTD of[the] United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of lreland. To promote the development of search dogs and personnel to locate lost and or trapped people on land and in water. To support handlers to achieve greater understanding oftraining of search dogs.

Our Volunteers and dogs endure a vigorous training program to the highest standards, Volunteers and dogs train daily and meet weekly to train together. All qualifications are externally verified.

Dogs: NASDU level 3. Air scenting. Trailing. Victim recovery. Crisis response.

At K9 Search and Rescue Northern Ireland we're a professional all-volunteer canine Search and Rescue Team. We specialise in providing NASDU certified area search (live victim) and Victim Recovery canines for coastal, urban, rural and disaster response in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, Isle of Man, and the Republic of Ireland. The direct benefits from this purpose inciude a Search and Rescue service for the lost, missing, vulnerable and despondent members of the public primarily throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We provide members with a wide range of training, knowledge and skills, to help deliver the service we offer. Through this training, our volunteers gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. We will collaborate with search teams in NI to provide search and rescue assistance.

Independent examiner’s report to the charity trustees of K( Search and Rescue Ltd

I report on the accounts of the company for the year ended 31 March 2025.

Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner

As the charity’s trustees (and also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law, and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to:

Examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act Follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act

State whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my cxamination was carricd out in accordance with the gencral Dircctions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act.

My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration ofany unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees conceming any such matters.

My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe:

  1. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 386 of the Companies Act 2006

  2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records

  3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the Companies Act 2006 and with the methods and principles of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland

  4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination and have no concems in respect of the matters (1) to (4) listed above and, in connection with following the Directions of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing to your attention.

In approving these financial statement as directors of the company we hereby confirm:

(a) that for the year stated above the company was entitled to the exemption conferred by Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006;

(b) that no notice has been deposited at the registered office of the company pursuant to Section 476 requesting than an audit be conducted for the year ended 31 March 2025 and

(c) that we acknowledge our responsibilities for:

(1) ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with Section 386, and

(2) preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial year and of its profit or loss for the year then ended in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the company.

1. Accounting policies

Basis of accounting

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Companies Act 2006.

Fund accounting

The company has various types of funds for which it is responsible and which require separate disclosure. A definition of the various types of funds is as follows:

Restricted funds

Restricted funds are to be used for specific purposes as laid down by the donor. expenditure which meet these criteria is identified to the fund, together with a fair allocation of overheads and support costs.

Unrestricted funds
