Pond Park Primary School Educational Trust Annual Report for the year l April 2023 to
31 March 2024.
Purpose of the Charity
The Pond Park Educational Trust was established in 1985 "to provide educational benefit5 for the
pupils of Pond Park Primary School" The 'benefits' were perceived, in general terms, as being
extra items which would enhance the resources of the school. Over the years many items have
been provided and these have substantially enriched the educational experience of all pupils.
In recent years there has been significant and much publicised activity in the area of Educational
Reform. Leaving aside the merits and demerits of this activity, one outcome of government
policy has been an increasing shortfall between what schools would wish to spend on resources
for pupils and the money avallable to them.
Under the common formula for funding Local Management of Schools all children do not attract
the Same per capita amount. Due to the nature of the school's catchment, Pond Park Primary
School pupi15 attract less than the EA average.
Income for the Pond Park Educational Trust has been generated by parents makin8 dSrect
donatlons through an annual appeal, We intend to purchase resources on an ongoing basls for
the dlrect beneflt of pupils. An annual minlmum donation of £35 per chlld or £50 per famlly,
when added to 8overnment fundin& would assist us in building up and maintaining a stock of
play resource5, reading book5, rnathematics books, ICT resources, rnU5ical resources, etc, and
would help maintain the renowned high standard of education within the school.
All contributions to the Educational Trust are voluntary and totally reliant on parental
goodwill.
All monies donated will be spent directly on resources for all of the children in the school.
Donations will be on an annual basls.
Any donations above the quoted figure of £35 per child/£50 per family per annum will be
gratefully received by the Trustees.

POND PARK EDUCATIONAL TRUST

the leasing of iPads and also be used to update outdoor play equipment. Money has been
