Pastoral care is provided to the sick and elderly of the church through visitation and prayer in homes and hospitals. Additionally there are annual fellowship events held and distribution of food parcels to the elderly. PUBLIC BENEFITS: The direct benefits whlch flow from our purpose are the personal growth in the Christian faith of those who attend Templemore Hall. encouragement and support provided to the bereaved, sick and elderly, and the provision of fellowship and friendship to the general public. The trustees are fully satisfied that there is no harm arising from any of the purposes to those involved in the church activities or to anyone in the wider community. TRUSTEE ANNUAL REPORT FOR YEAR ENDING 31st DECEMBER 2023 Without doubt 2023 was yet another very significant year for all in the fellowship of Templemore Hall Assembly. The people have continued to display ongoing faithfulness in giving and a consistency in attendance as their health allowed. Indeed despite the massive increase in energy bills across our nation over recent times which have been crippling for so many small churches, we actually finished the year in a stronger financial position than we started it with a profit of £52 (see separate accounts document). The premises of the charity as it is an old church building require regular maintenance (building and contents are insured for approx. £810,000). The charitvs beneficaries are anyone who chooses to attend the church services which are open to the general public. The only private benefit flowing from our purposes is the provision for a stipend to the Pastor who assumes the role of trustee. Such stipend and any incurred expenses to the Pastor or visiting speakers are necessary to enable the church to provide the pastoral and administrative support required to fulfil the stated purpose. No payments were made to any of the trustees in their role as trustees. The Pastor receives remuneration for his role as a Pastor, but no payment is made in respect to his duties as a trustee. Indemnity insurance for Trustees, and Officer-bearers, liability is included as an integral part of the general church insurance policy. As a charity recognized by HM Revenue and Customs the fellowship has no liability to taxation on its charitable activities. God's Word is being spread weekly not just from the pulpit but in written and elertronic form as copies of the sermon messages are sent out to those unable to attend. These copies were then passed on to family, friends and fellow residents in residential homes. We have sought to remain faithful to God but we appreciate that He continues to be even more faithful to us through His presence and provision. This was a year of transition with several new people joining us in the work and their presence has truly been a blessing. It is fair to say 2023 was a year of mixed emotions as so many were badly hit emotionally with the closure of Orangefield Baptist Church. God's ways and timings are not ours however and we could say He brought joy out of sorrow for the people from Orangefield Baptist who have now connected themselves with Templemore Hall Assembly have blended in so well. We are also thankful that the Friendship Meeting (which was so much part of Orangefield Baptist) continues to take place now as part of the work of Templemore Hall and it is pleasing that numbers have remained quite Steady. It got off to a bad start with one woman having a fall a5 500n as she arrived on the first day and ending up in hospital after many hours of a wait! Just like her condition however, as the weeks have progressed, people have become comfortable and content in what God has willed for them. There were also however times of sadness for us during the year as many dealt with health problems and indeed some in the assembly lost loved ones in their family circles during the year {50me even their own children). Two of our most senior members who were so faithful over the years passed into glory - Lily Mcmurray in July (aged 96) and Olive Irvine in December (aged 100).
We naturally miss the above names and their fellowship but we can be happy and content that they are now absent from the body and present with their Lord. One day we know we will be reunited with them. At the end of the year we were once again able to have our annual Christmas dinner in Seasons Restaurant with over 30 in attendance. It was a rich time of fellowship eating together, singing choruses and listening to a very appropriate epilogue. It was also memorable in that old childhood photographs were projected and there was great laughter by all guessing who some people were - some had certainly changed more than others in appearance over the decadesl Our annual Christmas Carol SerICe was also held in the hall with several taking part and a plentiful supper provided after it. Certainly no-one went home spiritually or physically hungry after the Christmas eventsl Distribution of food parcels was also made to those confined to their own homes. We have benefited by faithful workers once again throughout 2023 and our hope is firmly based on what the Lord Jesus Christ has done and continues to do for us. Those involved in the work can truly say in the words of I Corinthians 15:57 "thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ !
