BELVOIR COMMUNITY SPORTS COMPLEX
Annual Report 2024
The Trustees of Belvoir Community Sports Complex continue to meet on a monthly basis. Main items for discussion are the potential funding opportunities to develop the lands at The Boys’ Brigade’s Recreation Centre in Belvoir, South Belfast, engagement with local community representatives, elected representatives and those from sports governing bodies.
To-date, funding opportunities have been limited and the Trustees continue to await the roll-out of the sub-Regional Soccer Fund. We are hopeful that with a return of the NI Executive at Stormont, this fund will be launched during the year financial year 2024/2025.
Planning permission for this development was secured in July 2020 and we continue to seek alternative funding opportunities that will bring about the development as planned even on a phased basis.
We are still determined to see the development come to fruition that we believe will create a Centre of Sporting Excellence in this part of South Belfast.
