A summary description of the purposes of the charity The aim of 10[th] Tyrone Killeeshil Scouts - Scouting Ireland is to encourage the education of young people through the ONE programme. This includes the physical, intellectual, character, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and as responsible citizens, to improve society.

9. Charity’s Main Activities and Achievements during the year.
Our group is registered with the education authority to provide youth education to young people.
Our sections for the year ending March 2024 included beavers, cubs and scouts. Each section meet once weekly on their scheduled day. In addition, camping activities, hikes and county events occur at weekends throughout the calendar year. In addition, the scouts take part in an annual cross community ceremony and distribution of the Bethlehem Peace Light. Depending upon the weather, activities are carried out indoors, outdoors and in the local forest park. All scouts are taught the ONE programme. The ONE programme delivers the Aim (SPICES) of our Association through the use of the Scout Method with the entire programme operating on the basis of Plan, Do and Review. Activities include pioneering, backwoods, first aid, camp cooking, camping, hike, and a range of team sports. Our scout section take part in Gaisce / Duke of Edinburgh awards. All sections cubs, beavers and scouts compete to earn badges at different stages in their learning.

10. How is the Group doing financially?
The group depend upon the education authority grant and are
managing financially. Accounts attached.
11. How has the Group ensured members have not come to harm?
All volunteers receive training in Safeguarding, Programme (youth work) skills and adventure skills. All activities are risk assessed as appropriate and employ safe scouter to scout ratio. A programme of activity is planned and agreed upon at the start of each year.
12. How has your Group ensured that any private benefit to your volunteers has been incidental to the public benefit of your work?
Volunteers gain additional transferrable skills, but this is incidental to the work that they do and are the skills that they require to undertake that work.
13. A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the CCNIs guidance on Public Benefit.
We the Trustees of 10th Tyrone Killeeshil Scout Group can confirm that in setting our objectives and planning for the year that we have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
