Trustees Annual Report Financial Year 1[st] April 2022 – 31[st] March 2023

The trustees present their Trustees’ Report for the financial year ending 31[st] March 2023.

The trustees in this financial year have been Julian McGale and Andrew Terrington and a new board will be established during the next financial year.

Purpose

The purpose of the PTA is to encourage parents and staff to work together to benefit the children at St Patrick’s College Maghera. This has been demonstrated through ongoing engagement between parents and school. We continue to seek to advance the education of pupils in the school with increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding.

No harm arises from either purpose and the only beneficiaries of this charity are the children of the school.

Governance

The Governing document is a Constitution and trustees are normally chosen through Annual General Meeting.

Review of Activities, Achievements and Performance

During 2022-23 activities continued to be limited following the impact of Covid. The PTA were able to hold a lottery which raised £8570 which was used to cover a deficit from the previous year where no fundraising was possible, the cost of membership of the PTA organisation and the cost of setting up the fundraising event. Remaining funding was given to the school which used it to support literacy and numeracy interventions with vulnerable children.

There are currently no reserves from funds raised since the creation of the PTA. The PTA currently holds no assests or liabilities.

Approved by the Board of Trustees and signed on its behalf.
