## **Objectives of the PTFA**

This Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) was first set up in January 2018 by the principal of the school. The PTFA’s main purpose is fundraising, to which money goes towards items or activities outside of the school budget. While fundraising is our main objective, we would like to think the PTFA also gives the opportunity for parents/caregivers, staff and children a chance to interact on a social level while working towards a common goal.

## **Registered Charity & Constitution**

Cliftonville Integrated Primary School PTFA is an official registered Charity with the Northern Ireland Chairty Commission. **Charity Number:108590** , we gained Charity status in November 2022. Along with being a registered charity we also follow the Parent Kind Model Constitution which outlines how we run our organisation, hold meetings and conduct ourselves.

## **Fundraising Events held from January 2023 - December 2023**

**Tuck Shop at Sports Day (23[rd] May 2023)** – It was wonderful to be back out and engaging with the school community by supporting our school’s sports day with tea, coffee and snacks. There were costs incurred to purchase stock (which profit was made from subsequent tuck shops), water heater and banner at £551.49 and these are outlined further in the report in the statement of accounts. We raised £362.57 on the day but made a loss of £23.79.

**Tuck Shop at P7 Play (8[th] June 2023)** – We really enjoyed camping outside with drinks & snacks for those parents going in to see the play and raised the sum of £143.

**Shorts & Shades Day (16[th] June 2023)** – The children looked amazing and very cool on our shorts & shades day, we got some lovely photos sent to us on Facebook to put on our page and we really appreciated the support from parents/caregivers in donating £1 on the day. Total raised was £381

**Tuck Shop for children in school (28[th] June 2023)** – We ran this tuck shop throughout the day while we were in the assembly hall for our uniform swap shop. It was wonderful to see so many smiling and excited children. I was very impressed with the manners of our children attending Cliftonville, so very polite and patient in lining up to buy their treats.

**Halloween Disco (26[th] October 2023)** – It was an absolute treat to be back in the school and holding a disco for the children. All the children looked amazing and had a blast dancing away and munching on some goodies from the tuck shop. We really appreciated parental donation of £2 per child for the disco and sending in funds for the children to purchase from the tuck shop. We had a cost of DJ and stock to purchase for this event but a profit of £620.08 was made.

**Class Fundraising Christmas Project (Oct – Nov 2023)** – This was our first time trying out this type of project, the children got sent home a template to create a Christmas/winter picture. This got sent away and then parents received order cards to purchase products. The children’s artwork was fantastic, we have some budding artists here at Cliftonville. It was also

encouraging and great to see so many parents be supportive in purchasing an item, we received 23% commission on all orders and raised £316.

**Tuck Shop at Christmas Disco (21[st] December 2023)** – While we did not organise the Christmas disco, we did provide a tuck shop on the day. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed their treats from the tuck shop, we were sold out well before the disco had finished. A few more additional items were purchased at a cost of £105.73 and the rest of the stock we had from Halloween. A profit of £345.55 was made.

## **Funds Provided by PTFA to the school**

P7 Leavers Event in June 2023 (Hire of inflatables) - £210

Gardening club in September 2023 - £500

Accelerated Reading Prizes (AR) in September 2023 - £250

## **Non-Fundraising Events**

The PTFA was happy to be part of the following events serving tea & coffee at no cost to

## **Nursery Induction (5[th] June 2023)**

## **P1 Information Session (6[th] June 2023)**

## **P1 Play session (7[th] June 2023)**

## **Teddy Bears Picnic (20[th] June 2023)**

We also for the first time held a **Uniform Swap Shop** at the end of June 2023, it was wonderful to see so many donations and we were happy to see that some families in our school community really benefited from this event.
