The Thomas Trust- Trustees, Report 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2025 1. Summary of Activities During the year to 31 March 2025 The Thomas Trust continued its nonnal activity of making grants in line with its objects, as outlined in the Declaration of Trust dated 12 October 1989, in particular the advancement of the Christian faith. To this end grants were made in Detsmber 2024 to Tearfund {Nl) (£5,000), Good News for Everyonel {£2,0001, Scripture Union Northern Ireland (£1,000), Christian Action Research and Education (CARE) (£1,000) and Evangelical Alliance (Nl) (£1,000). The income of the Trust historically came from rèntal income relating to a 119th share of the propety at Thomas House, 14-16 James Street South, Belfast. Following the sale of Thomas House during the year to 31 March 2023, the net proceeds were invested by Investec. This investment, referred to as The Thomas Trust (Charitable) with reference number THOMA0617, is the primary asset of the Trust. During the year a transfer of £10,000 was made from the investment account to the bank account to enable the grants to be made. At the end of the financial year the investment fund had a closing value of £129,559. As the Trust's activities do not result in any liabilities it is not considered necessary to have a specific level of reserves. However. the Trustees will at all times retain a small amount of cash in its bank account to enable unforeseen liabilities to be addressed or grants lo be made at short noti. 2. Public Benefit In undertaking the activities of the Trust during the year, the Trustees have had regard to the Commission's Public benefit requirement statutory guidance. To ensure the funds of the charity are used for the public benefit the Twstees have only made grants to other registered charities. This approach ensures the funds are used for the public benefit and do not result in any harm. In addition, grant making to other charities means there is no private benefit from the activities of the charity. 3.
