TRUSTEE REPORT
Teemore Regeneration Group was formed in December 2017 following a public engagement process initiated by the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to ascertain the need and demand for a cross community group to promote the social, economic and physical regeneration of Teemore and surrounding area.
The Group has developed a comprehensive action plan detailing specific short, medium and long term actions to maximise the areas full potential.
Membership of the group is representative of the area profile in terms of religion, age and gender. Members bring with them a wealth of local knowledge, expertise and a determination to see the betterment of the area.
The public benefits of the charity continue to be:
-
implementation of an environmental improvement scheme to include upgrade signage, street furniture, improve footpaths.
-
support for those identified as vulnerable in the community e.g. shopping, collecting prescriptions, care package
-
provision of classes e.g. keep fit, crafts catering for all age groups
-
representation on the group from all sections of the community
-
provision of projects examining culture and heritage of the local area
-
provision of community events at different times throughout the year
Our beneficiaries continue to be those living in the Teemore area and its environs without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, political, religious, or other opinion.

Community Social Events
Discos catering for children of primary school age continue to be very popular with attendees from outside the immediate area. We acknowledge that there are limited opportunities for children and young people in the Teemore area and seek where feasible to offer social events for all ages and interests.
The real Christmas tree and the erection of Christmas lights on the street poles on the Ballyconnell Road do much to create a sense of festivity and Christmas spirit in the area.
Christmas flower arranging evenings broadened the outreach for the Group. With instruction from a local florist ladies enjoyed a relaxing evening of Christmas flower arranging and festive treats.

Traffic Calming
Mindful of the concerns of residents of speeding we have continued to engage with the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) and the PSNI to lobby for any measures that can make our roads safer. Increased attention from Roads Policing is welcomed as is the support of our local Councillors to raise issues at different forums.
Environmental Improvements
Our continued collaboration with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has seen some additional floral displays in the area.
Future Plans
Plans to establish a Men’s and Hen’s Shed to cater for the older members of the community are frustratingly slow to progress and many potential funding
opportunities have been missed as we continue to liaise with Diocesan solicitors on the lease agreement.
