A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
During the 2023-2024 year, we had 12 girls taking part in Rainbow activities. There were lots of different activities that took place to ensure that the Rainbow programme was covered. Rainbows meet every Tuesday in the Village Hall.
All the new Rainbow enrolled by making their promise. During the year, the girls completed their Be Well Badge and enjoyed all the activities that came with it. This included crafts, yoga and making pancakes and tasting different fruits and vegetables.
In October, Rainbows enjoyed playing different types of board games as part of their badge. They played Snakes and Ladders, BINGO, Guess Who and Emotions/Feelings games. The also became chefs for the night and made healthy pancakes with their favourite fruits on top. Many of the girls chose strawberries and bananas as their toppings.
In December, Rainbows took part in the Senior Citizen’s Party. They took part by singing, dancing and acting out the Nativity Play. Everyone that came enjoyed the entertainment that afternoon. Rainbows also enjoyed taking part in Larne District event which was Gathering Drums Workshop that allowed them to explore different types of drums.
In February for Thinking Day, Larne District held a night of Line Dancing which the girls’ thought was great fun as they learnt new dances routines. In March, the girls loved dressing up and bringing something green for St Patrick’s Day. They got to try different green foods that they wouldn’t usually try. Rainbows also had an Easter Egg competition where they had to design what their egg would look like if they could make it. We finished off by having a party to celebrate Easter
In May, 1[st] Larne Brownies kindly invited us to a night with The Wee Critters. This was a great night and was enjoyed by every girl as they loved handling all the different types of animals. They also enjoyed getting to know other Rainbows from another unit.
Rainbows had a great year and enjoyed all the activities that they took part in which included games both inside and outside.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities Purposes and that there was no private benefit.
