The Trustees, Report contains the infomiatlon required to be provided in the Trustees, Annual Report under the Slatèment of Recommended Practice (SORP} guidelines. The trustees of the charity are also charity trustees for Ihe purpose of charity law and under th8 charity's constitution are known as members of the board of trustees. In this report the trustees of Charitable Donations of Richard Jackson of Fort<ill in the County of Amagh present a summary of its purpose, governan￿, a¢tivities, achievements and finances for the financial year 31 December 2023. Mission, Objectives and Strategy Objectives Compliance with Public Benefit The Charity Tnjstees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's statutory public benefit guidance to ensure that activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the charity aims and objectives as well as providing public benefit. The charitsble trust was set up on 25 May 1789 following the death of Richard Jackson Esq. by an Act of Padiament for the clothing and educating of children of the Church of Ireland, making a decent provision for old tradesmen or farmers and to propagaling the Christian Religion in the East. With the passing of time changes have been made to the categoriès by resolution passed by the board. The charity makes contributions to schoo15, donalions to Southem Area Hospice Services, Help the Homeless (food bank) and CMSI. structure, Governance and Management Structure Governing Document The principal document regarding governance of the charity is the will of Richard Jackson agr￿d under an Act of Parliament in May 1789. The charity is an unincorporated organisation. Organisational structure The trustees are responsible for the day to day running of the charity. The board of trijstees hold meetings quarterfy throughout the year. The board of trustees should consist of twelve volunteers elected each year at an Annual General Meeting. New trustee appolntments are either from the younger generation of previous trustees or are recommended to the board of trustees based on association with the charity and Its aims. Review of Activities, Achievemants and Performance During the financial yearth8 charity has -donated to the Southem Area Hospice Services and North Louth Hospice; -contributed to the Newry Food Initiative., -given an educational payment to support a number of disadvantsged ix)ys and girts attending St. Nicholas Pre School, Forkhill Playgroup and DunDealgan National School,. onated to CMSI (for aid to the Diocese of North Kivu DRCI to help females in distress- -donated to Women's Aid., -donated to Simon Community Dundalk., 4onated to The Bishop's Appeal forthe earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. FSnancial Review The results for the financial y8ar are set out on page 7 and additional notes are provided showing incorne and expenditure in greater detail. Income During the financial year the charity continued to raise funds via renlal incom8 and divid8nd and interest income from investments.

This report is made solely to the charity's members, as a body. in accordance with the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile Ihe financial statements thal we have been engaged to compile, report to the Board of Trustees Ihat we have done so. and state Ihose matters that we have agreed to state to them in this report and for no olher purpose. To the fullest extent pemiitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity's members, as a body, for our work, or for this report. Respectlve responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charitie5 Act {Northem Ireland) 2008. The charity's tnjstees consider that an audit is not required for this financial year under the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008 and that an independent examination is required. It is our responsibility to= examine the financial ststements under section 65 of the Charits'es Act., follow the procedures laid down by the general Directions given by the Charty Commission for Northern Ireland under section 6519){b} of the Charities Act; and state whether particular matters have come to our attention. Basis of independent examiner's report We have examined your charity financial statements as required under seclion 65 of the Charities Act and our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 6519){b) of the Charities Acl. An examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. Fund accountlng The followlng are the categories of funds maintained: Restrlcted funds Restricted funds represent income received which can only be used for particular purposes. as specified by Ihe donors. Such purposes are within the overall objectives of thé charity. Unrestrfcted funds Unrestrict8d fvnds consist of General and Designated funds. General funds represent amounts which are expendable at thé discretion of the board, in furtheran￿ of the objectives of the charity. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that the board has, at its discretion, set aside for particular purposes. These designations have an administrative purpose only, and do not legally restrict the board's discretion to apply the fund. Income Income is recognised by inclusion in the Statement of Financial Activities only when the charity is legally entitled to the income, performance conditions attached to the itemls) of income have been met. the amounts involved can be measured with SLfficient reliability and il is probable that the income will be received by the charity. Income from charltable actlvities Income from charitable activities include income eamed from th8 supply of services under contractual arrangements and from performance related grants which have condits'ons that specify the provision of particular services to be provided by the charity. Income from govemment and other co-funders is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to the income because it is fulfilling the conditions contained in the relaled funding agreements. Where a grant is received in advance, its recognition is deferred and included in creditors. Where entittement occurs before income is received, it is accrued in debtors. The costs of each activity are separately accumulated and disclosed, and analysed according to their major components. Investment properties Investment propety is propety held either to eam rental income, or for capital appreciation (including future re4evelopment) or for both, but not for sale in the ordinary course of buslness. Investment property is Inltially measured at cost, which includes the purchase cost and any directly attributable expenditure. Investment propety is subsequently valued at its fair value at each reporting date, by professional external valuers. The difference between the fair value of an investrnent propety at the reporting date and its carrying value prior to the valuation is recognised in the Statement of Financial Aclivilies as a fair value gain or loss. Any gain or loss on disposal of an investment property {calculaled as the difference between the net proceeds from disposal and the carrying amount of the item) is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities. Investments Investments held as fixed assets are stated at cost 18ss provision for any permanènt diminution in value. Income from other financial fixed asset investrnenls together with any related tax credit is recognised in the profit and loss account in the financial year in which it is receivable. Investments in listed companies are held at fair value at the balance sheet date. The fair value of the listed investments are detemiined by a third paty financial advisory firm. Dobtors Debtors are recognised at the sethernent amount due after any discount offered. Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any trade discounls due. Income recognised by the charity from govemment agencies and other ccpfunders, but not yet re￿iVed at financial year end, is included in debtors. Creditors Creditors and provisions are ￿cOgniSed where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a past event, which will probably result in the transfer of economic value to a third party, and the amount due to settle the obligation can be reliably measured or estimated.
