The trustees of Gisland are pleased to present their annual report together with the financial statements for the year ending October 2023.
Structure, Governance, and Management:
GSSHD is governed by a board of trustees. Throughout the year, the charity has been dedicated to supporting stoma patients and promoting public health awareness.
Objectives and Activities:
GSSHD aims to provide support and education for stoma patients and their families, as well as to raise awareness about general health and sanitation issues.
Summary of Main Activities:
1. Trustee Meetings:
- Held four trustee meetings to discuss and oversee the charity's activities and governance.
2. Training Sessions:

Two sessions for stoma nurses and volunteers in Sudan.

Two sessions about female genital mutilation.

Two sessions on general health and sanitation advice.
3. Webinars:

Organized two online webinars for patient relatives about stoma care.

Volunteers distributed leaflets to patients regarding public health and bad habits.
Major Events:
- Mr. Ahmed, a trustee, resigned for personal reasons. His resignation was accepted by the board.
Financial Review:
The charity's total income for the year was £256, all of which came from donations made by the trustee. The total expenditure for the year was also £256, allocated as follows:
