The trustees present the annual report and financial statements for The Rotary Club of Lurgan Charttable Trust for the
year ended 30 June 2023.
The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORPI "Accountlng and Reporting
by Charities. IFRS 1021 in preparin8 the annual report and financial statements of the charlty.
The flnanclal statements have been prepared on a "Receipts and Payments. basis in accordance with the accounting
policies set out In the notes to the financial statements and applicable accounting standard5, Accounting and Reporting by
Charltles: Statement of Recommended Practlce appllcable to charlties preparing their accounts in accordance wlth the
Flnanclal Reportin8 Standard appllcable In the UK and Republic of Ireland issued in October 2019, the Financial Reportln8
Standard applicable in the United Kin8dom and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021, the charity's governin8 document, the
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2013. The Charities {Accounts and Reports)
Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and UK Generally Accepted Accountin8 Practice.

Objectlves and Actlvftles
The Charit￿$ objects are to promote the followin8 purposes for the public benefit:
The advancement of communlty development by the provision of recreatlonal facllltles and servlces for those
citizens in the Arma8h Banbridge & Crai8avon Council aiea who are in need by reason of a8e, ill health, disabillty,
flnanclal hardship or other dlsadvantage.
The direct benefits which flow from the organisation's purpose5 include the provision of funds for other charitable and
communlty organisations leading to the allevlatlon of flnancial hardshlp and the Improvement of condltlons and well-being
and family life of children, teenagers and adults in the Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Council area which in
turn promotes the development, education and experiences of young people.
Further benefits include increased ski115 and knowledge, vocatlonal opportunity and employment opportunlty whlch In
turn promotes personal development, education and experiences. Benefits are evidenced through feedback from
beneflclarles, other charltles and stakeholders that the trust engages with including through short briefin8slpresentatlons
Dutlinlng experlences and outcomes for the trustees. This purpose does not give rise to any harm.
The charlty's beneflclarles are citizens in the Armagh Banbrid8e & Craigavon Council area who are In need by reason of
age, ill health, disabllity, financial hardship or other disadvantage. A private benefit to the trustees may arlse from ongoin8
programmes of trainin8 and 8ood 8overnance and finance mana8ement. Through these programmes, trustees may galn
skills and experlence whlch are transferrable to other settin85. These skills are incidental and necessary to ensure the
benefit is provided to the right beneficlarles.
Publlc b¢nefit stat(tment
The trustees of The Rotary Club of Lurgan Charltable Trust conflrm that they have had due re8ard for the guidance on
Publlc Benefit by the Charlty Commission for Northern Ireland and are pleased to report that durln8 the year the charltv
has continued to provide Public Benefits through activities we offer. In partlcular, the trustees conslder how planned
actlvltles will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set out, as well as provldln8 publlc benefit.
Purpose
The trust was set up for the beneflt of those cltlzens In the Armagh Banbrid8e & Ciai8avon Council area who are In need
by reason of a8e, ill health, disability, financlal hard5hlp or olher dlsadvantage. The trust Is connected to the Lurgan branch
of Rotary International, the world's largest voluntary service organlsatlon wlth more than 1.2 mllllon members in over 200
countrles.
Rotary Club members are volunteers, male and female and. from all walks of life, who work to benefit the local and
Internatlonal cornmunlty. In doln8 so, rnembers make a positive difference to the lives of others. Their work Includes raising
funds in support of worthy causes. Rotary, however. Is not all about fundraising and there is also a very important social
element to it. Membership of a Rotary Club provides an opportunlty to meet others and develop friendships.
The trust accept5 donations and grants from the Lurgan branch of Rotary international and other donor5 speclfically to
help beneficiaries in the Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Council area. It makes grants and donatlons, helps other
charitleslgroups locally. The trust raises funds for speclflc projects In the Borough. The Trust has supported a number of
charities Includin8 the St Vlncent de Paul Society and Salvation Army Covld-19 crlsis funds. The trust has purchased outdoor
musical In5trument5 for the Sensory garden In Ceara Special Needs School.
Achlevements
The Trust has supported a number ofchafities. We have made donations to the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul
food bank appeal as well as to others including Knitted Knockers based at Brownlow House, Lur8an. In conjunction wlth
ABC council we worked with them to provide tree whips for public benefit at Silverwood and we also supported Ceara
speclal needs school In Lurgan.

Any casual vacancles occurrln8 amongst the trustees shall be filled by the Board and the replacement trustees shall hold
office lor the remainder of the pefiod which the persons replaced would have held offlce.

The irustees mana8e the bu￿ne$S of the ¢harity and may exercise all the powers of the charlty unless they are subject to
any restrictlon as imposed by the appllcable charities, legislation.
Any rneetin85 of trustees at whlch a quorum is present at the tlmè the rélévant déclslon is made may exerclse all the
powers exercisable by ihe tr￿stee5.
The irustees may delegate any of thelr powers or lunctlons to a commlttee conslstinl of not fewer than three trustees
appointed by them.

The trustee5 must hold at least Iwo rneetin85 each year. A quorum at a meetlng of the trustees is two trustees. A meetin8
