A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
We had eleven Guides attend weekly aged between 10-14 years with two leaders.
The term started with a coronation tea party celebrating King Charles with games and cakes. We have been taking part in activities to increase the girls domestic and learning for the future skills such as baking, public speaking, debating and job interview technique.
We also partnered with Habitat for Humanity learning about the work that they do in the community and giving the girls an understanding of the prevalence of homelessness in their area. We had a fundraising activity and presented Habitat for Humanity with a monetary gift for their work when we visited their Lisburn store and helped upcycle furniture.
We also helped at Lisburn food bank at Christmas, helping to pack hampers for those who needed them and getting them ready to be sent out.
We had a visit from Emma Pengelly, local MLA to celebrate Parliament week. We also had a tour of Tesco to learn where our food comes from and expose the girls to jobs they will be able to apply for when they are sixteen. They were allowed to try the cashier and watch how employees interacted with customers. We finished off the year with a celebratory trip to Artistic Lisburn for ten pin bowling and dinner.
There was no harm flowing from the Charity’s purposes and no private gain.
