Richhill Amalgamated Football Club Annual Trustees’ Report 2024/25 Charity Number NIC 108486
The purpose of Richhill AFC is to advance amateur football within the local area while also making our centrally based facilities available to many other local groups/organisations (both sporting and non-sporting).
The Club aims to create a secure environment where members can play football and to promote sport by promoting participation in activities; offering members appropriate competition, helping members raise their sporting standards, organising local games of football and ensuring that all members of the community have an equal opportunity to participate.
We provide football for every member of the Club (aged 4 – 63) while we regularly deliver Holiday Youth Camps which attracts hundreds of children (aged 4-13) every year. Due to the success of these Youth Camps, we recently established a Youth Academy with 4 teams playing competitive football during the 2025/26 season. Due to demand, there are plans in place to add further teams for the 2026/27 season.
The biggest recent development was the start of construction on our new synthetic floodlit pitch in October 2025 with a completion date due for May 2026. This state-ofthe-art facility, which was made possible by significant funding from the Irish FA / DCMS 2025/26 Grassroots Facilities Investment Fund, will transform both our Club and community moving forward. For example, our growing number of teams will now have access to state-of-the art facilities while the PE and extra-curricular multi-sports programmes of local schools (particularly nearby Hardy Memorial PS) will also benefit during off peak hours. A wide range of other football and non-football community groups will enjoy access to the facility thus dramatically increasing the number of visitors into Richhill village, which subsequently can also only be good for local businesses.
While construction work on this exciting project continues, finances for the day-to-day running of the Club continue to be a challenge, particularly as we are currently having to hire facilities and are also unable to hire out our junior pitch due to the construction work. However, our Club Committee have managed to keep the Club in a favourable financial position through the organisation of many different fundraising events, securing business sponsorship and having success with grant applications.
Our Trustees have reviewed the 2024/25 accounts and are satisfied that the Club's finances are being managed and reported satisfactorily. Regular updates on financial matters are provided at Committee Meetings while an end of season report is distributed at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in line with our Constitution.
