Friends of Holy Cross is a registered charity which operates on behalf of Parents, Teachers, Friends of Pupils enrolled at the Community School known as Holy Cross Primary School.

TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT
YEAR ENDED 30™ JUNE 2025
The Trustees of the Friends of Holy Cross present their report together with the Independent Examined Financial Statements of the Charity for the year ended 30" June 2025.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Charity was registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland on 10 of December 2021. The Charity’s governing document is the Constitution. It is governed by a constitution adopted on 20 June 2017
Friends of Holy Cross is a group of volunteers made up of parents and friends who meet several times a year. We fundraise in and around the school and the local community to help to provide the school with additional resources such as games, art supplies and equipment to advance the education of the pupils. We encourage parents to become involved in their children’s education and have a good relationship with the staff of the school.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objective of the charity is to advance the education of the pupils in the school in particular by:

e Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school. The benefits that flow from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for Holy Cross Primary School, strengthening and building on our relationships within the local community, our teaching staff and Board of Governors of the school.

e Engaging in activities or providing facilities and equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
During the year, the charity generated £1,864 from tractor run, coffee mornings and movie night. There was also money raised from Asda of £581. The money raised was used to purchase summer treats and easter eggs for the school and there was a donation of £2,500 to Holy Cross Primary School.

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
In setting objectives and planning activities for the year the Trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit and are confident that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
FINANCIAL RESULTS
The main source of income of the charity is from fund raising activities and donations.
FINANCIAL RESERVES
The Charity does not have a specific policy on reserves, but the Treasurer aims to maintain enough money in the bank account to fund all forthcoming expenses, such as floats and expenses for events and any commitments to the school.
TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITES IN RELATION TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The charity trustees are responsible for preparing a trustees’ annual report and statement of accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Commission for Northern Ireland.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
