Welcome Address at the 2nd Annual General Meeting
It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of you at the 2nd Annual General Meeting of the Skeoge Community Association, formerly known as the Glenabbey Community Association. Today, we gather to share the accomplishments of our committee, dedicated volunteers, and service providers.
I express my gratitude, foremost, to our generous funders whose financial support over the past twelve months has been instrumental in realising our programs, initiatives, and schemes. As a committee, we acknowledge the pivotal role this support plays, recognising that without it, none of our endeavours would have come to fruition.
CFORWARD BY CHAIRPERSON
Our primary focus as a community group is to enhance the quality of life in the Skeoge and surrounding areas. We aim to improve the social and personal development skills of local residents while instilling a sense of local ownership, active participation, and involvement in community development and regeneration.
This report provides a detailed account of the activities undertaken by the Skeoge Community Association in support of both young and old residents. Our day-to-day efforts include implementing innovative projects designed to build capacity, advocating for local residents, securing funding for initiatives such as Annual Fun Days, Summer Schemes, Holiday Hunger Preventions, Health & Wellbeing Activities, and Community Relations Programmes. We also maintain regular information updates through our popular Facebook page.

Looking ahead, the next few years promise to be exciting times for the Skeoge Community Association and all those associated with us. We embark on the process of reviewing and implementing a strategic plan, positioning ourselves to be the catalyst for the continued regeneration of the Skeoge area. The ongoing housing developments and the resulting demands on local services present an opportunity for Skeoge Community Association to actively participate in this process, collaborating with our fellow Community and Voluntary (C&V) and Statutory sector partners.
Before I conclude, I extend our heartfelt thanks to the organisations and individuals we have collaborated with over the last 12 months. A special appreciation goes out to the funding bodies that have contributed to the ongoing work of the Skeoge Community Association. Lastly, I express my gratitude to my fellow dedicated Trustees for their unwavering support and commitment to the association, and extend a warm welcome to our new Trustees.
