Spain and Portugal who benefit from the missionary endeavours of our Inissionaries and volunteers who iyork alongside local evangelelical churches and Christian organisations to share the Good News of salvation and also help disciple Christians. Many poor Brazilian, Spanish and Portugese also benefit from food packages and access to foodbanks medical supplies and emergeny clothing. No private benefit arising apart from paying staff and paying allowances lo sponsored Inissionarieslworkers which is neccessary to enable the Acre Gospel Mission to operate and provide public benefit. Complelion of two churches in Northeast Brazil We continued lo support familiares in need with food parcels in Brazil, Portugal, and Lanzarote through our Church dfoodbanks We have helped familiaTies with needs after severe flooding in various parts of the Amazon. Through the Cliurch in Hebrom, we have support¢d children in Bairro novo, Manaus{ an area of extreme deprivation ) This Support bought Christmas gifts. food parcels for Chrismias, shoes. and Clothes for the kids. We also support this Ministry throughoul the year. We are able lo give finanacial assistanc¢ for medical needs both of our Mission workers in Brazil and others. Supported our Pastor's and children's workers lo purchase children's materials, Bibles, and literature. We were able to provide musical instruments for Church worship. This year we moved our headquartes and mission otTice from 30 Carnglave Manor, Ballynahinch 10 52A Halfpenny Gate Road Moira This will give us better otfice accommodation and also will be more accessible for travelling. Financial review Pollcy on reserve.1 The Trustees have established a policy which is reviewed annually, whereby they have desinaled reserves to cover redunancy and wind up costs in the event of a cessation. Plans for future periods Our plan for the future is to continue lo reach out and work in Brazil, Portugal and the Canary islads regardle55 of class, culture or creed with the Gospel of Christ. To continue to promote our work as best we can across Northern Ireland to bring in further voluntary donations. (a) Missionaries working in vaTiOUS countries each group belng responsible to fonn its local constitution according to the pattern approved by the home cornmittee allhough this may vary according to local necessity. (b) A hom¢ committee composed of the President , the Cordinator. the treasurer, and not more than twelve other meinbers. (c) Retired missionaries may participate on ihe home committe by invitation. Major risk,% and managemenl of lho.se risks Where appropiale systems or procedures have been eslablislied by the governing body to mitigate the risks the charity race,. Internal control risks are minimised by the impleinentalion of procedures for authorisation of all transaclions and projects through the auspices of the Home Cominittee. It is responsible for the disburseinent of all funds and for the making of remittances to ihe mission field. Financial instruments Objecllves andpullcles The cliarity's activities expose it lo a nuinber of financial risks including credit risk, cash flow risk and liquidity risk. The use of financial derivative5 is governed by Ihe Charity's policies approved by the board of iruslees, wliich provide written principles on the use of financial derivatives to manage ihese risks. The charity does not use derivalive financial iT)5trumeiits for speculative purposes. Cashflow rlsk The charity's activilies expose it priimarily lo the financial risks of changes in foreibyn currency exLhange rales and interest ratcs. The charity uses foreign exchange forward contracts and interest rate swap contracts to hedge these exposures. Interest bearing assets and liabilities are held at fixed rate to ensure certainty of cash flows. Credll ri.sk The charity's principal financial assets are bank balances and cash, trade and other receivables, and investments. The charity's credit risk is priinarily attributable to ils trade receivables. The amounts presented in the balance sheet are net of allowances for doubtful receivables. An allowance for impairnlent is made where there is an identified loss event which, based on previous experience, is evidence of a reduction in the recoverability of the cash flows. The credit risk on liquid funds and derivative financial instruments is limited because the counterparties are banks wilh high credit-ralings assigned by international credil-rdting agencie5. The charity has no significant concentration of credit risk, with exposure spread over a large number of counterparties and customers. Liquldity rlsk In order to maintain liquidity to ensure that sufficient funds are available for ongoing operations and future developments, the charity uses a mixture of long-term and short-terin debt finance. Aere Gospel Mission Statement of Trustees, Responsibilities The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees, report and the financial ststements in accordance wtth the United Kingdom Accounting Siandards (Uniied Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice) and applicable law and regulations. The law applicable to charities requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for thai period. The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assels of ihe charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
