Achievements and performance

Set Free Project

For the Set Free Project the major development of the year was the opening of a second day-centre in December 2023 to accommodate the growing work with children and adults in the Samaki community. In the past year increasing numbers of children and adults day.

True Light Outreach

-light area where children are at extreme risk of abuse and trafficking. The Bar Outreach team visits bars and brothels to befriend and support the people who work there. The primary aim is to offer friendship, and after that, through key partnerships with other organizations, a route into a different way of life for those who want it. The property rented in mid-2023 has been an invaluable base for

Stop for the One Child Sponsorship program

Donations from Stop for the One sponsors funded the distribution of school uniforms, backpacks, and school attend school and receive the education needed to empower them into a better life and future.

Social Work

On one occasion a woman living in a community served by TMW was found in an alarmingly poor physical condition after giving birth. It became clear that she had been left without proper post-natal care or medication doctor to visit the mother and provide necessary treatment. In addition to medical care, TMW provided essential supplies for the mother and her newphysical health improved, but the emotional toll was immense. TMW staff continued to offer emotional and pastoral support. This case illustrates how the TMW team, by acting swiftly and comprehensively, is able to avert potentially tragic outcomes and provide holistic care for families in dire need.

Outreach

Improved finances and the assistance of visiting teams made it possible to organise a greater number of weekend outreaches to provincial villages in the past year. The aim was to educate the community on the dangers of human trafficking, as these villages are often the target of traffickers. Separate training sessions worship, and snacks, and children received school supplies and families were given food packages.

Rescue and cooperation with other organisations

TMW staff continue to partner with other organisations, such as Agape International Missions (AIM), the Hard Places Community (HPC), Hope Foundation and Team Challenge, and with the authorities, to pass on information about cases of trafficking and exploitation which they receive in the course of their work. In the past year information provided by TMW led to the rescue of several children and young people who had been trafficked, and in one case to the arrest and deportation of an abuser.

In June 2024 TMW partnered with Operation Mobilisation and Doulos Hope to provide free eye tests and fittings for free glasses. Forty people from the communities served by TMW were among over 500 who received free glasses.
