Canal Boxing Academy operates as a registered charity under the Northern Ireland Charity Commission, with the charity number 108323. The governance of the academy is guided by the club constitution, a document unanimously adopted by all trustees at our annual general meeting.
Public Benefits:
The primary outcomes derived from our charitable purpose encompass a spectrum of advantages, notably contributing to improved health outcomes, heightened levels of well-being encompassing both physical and mental dimensions, and increased engagement in physical activity. These outcomes are achieved through the implementation of various boxing and fitness-related initiatives at our gymnasium. A direct positive impact on physical fitness and mental well-being is realized as we unite individuals from across our designated area of benefit, fostering community relations, and enhancing cohesion. Demonstrating the benefits involves employing diverse evaluative methods, including pre and post-project surveys, informal focus groups, interviews with beneficiaries and their guardians, and visual documentation through videos and photographs disseminated on our social media platforms and featured in local newspaper articles. Importantly, there is no perceived harm stemming from these endeavours. The beneficiaries of our charity encompass residents in the Lisburn City area, neighbouring villages and hamlets, as well as regions of West Belfast where we attract participants. Our commitment is solely to public benefit, with no private advantage being pursued.
What Our Organization Does:
Canal Boxing Academy was founded with the mission of providing an accessible and inclusive venue for individuals in the Lisburn City and surrounding areas to engage in boxing activities. Our programming caters primarily to two target groups: those seeking competitive boxing opportunities and individuals participating in fitness, health, and well-being initiatives that integrate boxing activities and taster sessions. Our club is open to all, and we take pride in our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity without any membership restrictions. Drawing members from Lisburn City, West Belfast, and surrounding villages, our club plays a vital role in the local community. We utilize boxing as a catalyst to foster community cohesion and pride, collaborating with other sports organizations and community groups to organize joint events that promote healthier and happier lives. In addition to boxing-focused activities, we address local issues such as alcohol abuse and antisocial behaviour through specialized classes and programs, using boxing as a motivational tool to encourage participation and inspire individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles.

Boxing Shows Across Northern Ireland: To further engage the community, we host boxing shows across Northern Ireland. These events include both ballroom black-tie affairs and open-air gatherings, providing diverse and accessible platforms for showcasing the talent within our club. Through these shows, we not only promote the sport of boxing but also contribute to the vibrant cultural and social tapestry of the region.
