Publlc Benefit Statement
The Holylands Christian Trust exists for the following purposes and public benefrts".
1. Promoting a practice and maintaining a belief which are consistent with the
religious and charitable ethos of All Saints, Church. In supporting the work of
All Saints, Church, the Trust will aid the Church in facilitating more and higher
quality engagement with the general public in pursuit of its aims. The benefits
to these users can be assessed by reviews with staff workers at All Saints,
Church and increased attendance, an increased programme of events or
increased social integration. The beneficiaries of this purpose will be the
members of All Saints, Church and other users of the services offered by All
Saints, Church. The Trustees are not currently aware of any private benefit that
may flow from thi5 purpose to any individual. If a member or user of All Saints,
Church were to apply to the Trust. the application for the award of a grant will
be considered in the same way as all other applicants;
2. The direct benefit of participation in Church life includes the enjoyment of public
worship and the giving and receiving of pastoral ministry, improved
understanding of the values relating to civic engagement. community cohesion
and providing a bridge between diverse groups. This can be measured and
evIden￿d through increased social integration and pastoral care delivered at
the point of need. The beneficiaries of this purpose will be organisations,
churches. individuals and the general public in any part of the world. Any private
benefit arising out of the fulfilment of our Christian ministry is essential to the
fulfilment of the purpose of the advancement of religion. No Trustee receives
remuneration, reward or other private benefit for carying out their Trustee
responsibility.

3. The general public will benefit in turn from their engagement with and exposure
to the individual beneficiaries. The general public will further benefit from the
increased number of people who are trained to further the work of All Saints,
Church will and the Christian religion around the world by virtue of the grants
made to individual beneficiaries. By the involvement of individual beneficiaries
in the work of All Saints, Church or in advancing the Christian Religion
throughout the world. The benefits can be also be evaluated by way of reviews
of the training received, and the individual's subsequent employment
prospects. The benefits are demonstrated by an individual finishing a training
course or other training, working in a church or organisation or otherwise
working in order to advance the Christian raligion. The Trustees are aware that
there is a remote possibility of harm resulting to a beneficiary of the Trust. The
beneficiary's employment prospects may be enhanced by training that is
partially funded by grants from the Trust and then gain work in a high-risk area
of the world. The Trustees are aware that there is a slight possibility of hann
such as anxiety and stress from a beneficiary undertaking bible classes and
otherwise. However. the Trustees are not aware of other harm that may result
from beneficiaries fulfilling this purpose. Furthermore, the wider benefit to the
individuals in increased knowledge in religion and moral improvement will
outweigh any detriment arising from the teaching of the Christian fatth. The
beneficiaries of this purpose will be individual ￿ cipients who are training for or
engaged in Christian Ministry. Individual beneficiaries may benefit from
financial support or increased employment prospects. Any private benefrt
arising out of the fulfilment of this purpose is essential to the fulfilment of the
purpose of the advancement of religion. No Trustee receives remuneration,
reward or other private benefit for carying out their Trustee responsibilty.
Summa
of Activities and Achievements
Whilst the Holylands Christian Trust ("HCT') is in its infancy, the Trustees are pleased
with the work that has been accomplished since HCT was incepted back in January
2020, and achieved its charitable status on 19 December 2021. It would be remiss of
the Trustees to omit a word of thanks to Ms Valerie Miller, who resigned as a Trustee
in May 2021, but committed so much of her time and energy during the early stages
of HCT to help us achieve our charitable status, bank accounts etc. She was a great
support to each of the Trustees, and no doubt remains supportive of HCT, and we
express our thanks to her.
Presentations and discussions at All Saints, Church
in 202212023, we were kindly invited to two church services in All Saints, Church (one
being their evening worship service known as Unichurch) by their Rector. to speak to
the congregants and inform them of the existen￿ of HCT and to promote its purposes

and benefits. A short presentation was given by our Chairman, who remained behind
after the ServI￿S to speak with interested individuals.
We primarily wanted to speak with individuals who would be willing to partner with us,
both spiritually and financially, into the long-term, in particular, those who have
previously benefited from financial assistance to advance their training in Christian
Ministry, who know the benefits of such funding, and V￿uld like to give back in kind.
financially and spiritually. The Trustees were pleased with the responses that We
received, with some committing to give financially following those discussions.
We also wanted to speak with individuals who may be interested in applying forfvnding
from HCT to assist them in being raised and trained in Christian Ministry. We had a
number of helpful, preliminary conversations.
All Saints, Church have been very accommodating to HCT from the earfy stages of the
charity, and we were very grateful for the invitations. not only for the promotion and
development of HCT, but also to fulfil our objects of furthering the work of All Saints,
Church, and advancing the Christian religion (Objects 1 and 2), which benefrts those
who attend All Saints, Church, but also the public generally.
We look fornard to further opportunities in the coming years to work with All Saints
Church in furthering our charitable purposes.
A lication Fomi
In 202212023, the Trustees were also working hard on carefully drafting appropriate
application fomis for individuals to complete, if they are seeking financial assistance
from HCT with respect to their training in Christian Ministry. The Trustees, led by Ms
King, took a lot of time, care and attention to this project to ensure that the application
process was sufficient to ensure the Trustees could perform their due diligence with
respect to any potential applicant, whilst also balancing the need for the process to not
be unnecessarily onerous, so as to cause any form of barrier to individuals. We are
pleased with what has been accomplished with this important step in the development
of HCT.
Through this process we will be able to administer HCT funds appropriately between
successful applicants to support the raising and training of as many individuals as
possible who are engaged in Christian Ministry (Object 3) as the more people we can
support, who are trained to further the work of All Saints, Church will and the Christian
religion around the world, will benefrt the public by virtue of the grants made to
individual beneficiaries,
In setting out our activities and achievements for the year, the Trustees have given
careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland's guidance on

public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charities
purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
