During its inaugural year, BELFAST SULEYMANIYE EDUCATIONAL TRUST
has made significant strides in fulfilling its mission to support bilingual
thildren and their families, as well as minority groups in Northern Ireland,
in achieving educational success and community integration. As a new
charity, this marks the first year of operations and a pivotal step towards
realising its objectives. Key achievements include:
1. Establishment of After School Clubs: The charty successfully
launched after-school clubs catering to students from the local
comThinity, These clubs provide essential educational support
and enrichment activrties, fostering a supportive learning
environment for bilingual children.
2. Introduction of Evening Le55ons for Adults,. Recognising the
importance of adult education in promots'ng community
integration, the charty initiated evening lessons tailored to the
needs of minorty groups. These lessons aim to enhance language
skills and provide valuable opportunities for social interaction,
thus contribjting to the overall well-being and integration of
participants.
3. Empowering Bilingual Families: The charity has played a vital role
in informing bilingual families about school requirements and
assisting them in preparing their children for academic success. By
prOv￿1ng guidance and support the charty empowers these
families to navigate the educational system effectively, ultimately
enhancing the prospects of their children.
