Providing support and assistance to families bereaved through RTC’S by means of Counselling, Family Support Meetings, Home visits, peer support, Walk and Talk therapy sessions, monthly zoom support meetings.

Life After will also be increasing Road Safety awareness within the Derry- Strabane Council area by forming a new Rod Safety partnership. Life After also works closely with the PSNI Family Liaison Team and assists at the new recruits training programs.

During the year we are hoping to bring in additional Counselling support with volunteer Cousellors, run our funday in St Columbs Park House and host the annual

We also hope to strengthen and build new partnerships in 2024.

## Life After Charity

## Completed Objectives

## 2023-2024

We are delighted that all the objectives we planned to fulfil in 2023-2024 were completed.

The Life After Support Team made contact with 72 bereaved families during 2023-2024, increasing the number of family membership within the charity from 175 families to 247 families.

Our Counselling team under the direction Of Lead Trauma Counsellor Debbie Mullan conducted 500 counselling sessions by means of face to face, telephone and zoom.

We still operate 4 hubs throughout Northern Ireland – Derry and Strabane/Causeway Coast and Glens/Omagh and Fermanagh/ Lisburn and Castlereagh

In September we held our annual Funday in St Columbs Park providing an afternoon for our families

to come together to enjoy a catch up, the funday also gave our children and youth within the charity an opportunity to let their hair down.

Life After also received the Kings Award for 2024 which was presented to the charity at our Annual Remembrance and Celebration service hosted by the Mayor. The award was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of The City of Londonderry Ian Crowe MBE.

Finally Road Safety Saturday Education Day was held during road safety week in November. This event is run in conjunction with PCSP, CCI, DFI Emergency services, St John Ambulance, NIAA, Sandy Arthur Training services, Journeys NI and the Mayors Office which has now been constituted as the North West Road Safety Parntership.

In all Life After exceeded all expectations for 20232024 with the surprise of winning the Kings Award.
