The financial ststemen15 have been prepared in accordance with the accounting poliue5 set out in note 110 the
financial statements and comply with the tharity's Igoverning documentl, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Pracbce applicable to chaiilres preparing their accounts in
accordance wrth the Financial Repo￿n9 Standard applicabie in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
1021" (effective 1 January 2019).
Objecllves and actlvltl•s
The objectives and activities of the charity. as sel out in the goveming document, are as follows;
To demonstrate God's love through action in local communities by promoting youth development, pro￿tIng healthy
living and promoting community engagement.
Accordingly the Objects of the Londonderry YMCA are..
To provide or assist in the provision of education. for people of 811 ages and in particular young people, wlth
the object of developing their physical, mental or spirftual capacitiès.
To promote healthy living including emotional and mental vRllbelng through the provision of Infonnation,
education and activitles.
To promote community engagement and citizenshlp. for young people, their famllles and other adults for
the purpose of famlty 5UPPOrt, comrnunty relatlons and active cilizenship.
To ￿lIeVe or assist in the relSef of need experienced by people of all ages and in particular young people,
who are In conditions of hardship or distress by reason of their social, physical. emotional, spiritual or
economic circumslances.
The main aclivitles of the Association are the provision of an Education Authority funded, five nlght and Iwo
aftemoons a week youih faulily for young people from primary one up to young adults, in a safe enblronmenl. with
staff who are carlng and responsive to Individuals needs. In addition we have a presence In local schools and are88
of high deprivation.
The Association also seeks additional funding to run programmes lo address Issues such as mental health,
protecting and preservlng the local environmenl and global Issues.
Ourlng the summer period we strive to run acllvities for 811 young people in the communmy at a reduced Cost to
parents by securing fundlng.
Throughout the year the association rnns programmes aimed al developing members, young leaders, volunteers,
staff and the communlty.
We offer support to organisations in the communitSes with thelr acttvlties.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by The Charity Commisslon for Northeni Irelanij Sn dectdlng
vthat activllles Ihe charity should undertake.

Achievements and perforniance
YOUTH ACTIVITIES - OuTing this period we welcomed the relaxation of covid 19 guidance and restridions.
However, the long tem impacts of the pandemic are visible, induding an increase in young people presenting with
mental-wellbeing i55ues among young people and a reluctance to rLYngage in youth activities. Despite Ihe ongoing
challenges the youth
team worked tirelessly to adapt and continue to deliver qualty youth activities. Programffles run for 5 nights and 2
afternoons per week.
TBUC - Is 8 major govemment programme that promotes Goodlcommunity Relations across our communltle5. We
deliver, as a partner. a summer and autumn programme that brings together youth groups (from rural or uthan
communllles across the North West) in a partnership forming programme. In spite of the ongolng pandemic, thls
programme did go ahead and Gontinued to be a success for everyone involved.
DEVELOPMENT - The YM Youth Cafe. funded by awards for all, Is fM)w open thanks lo the d&dicatlon of our junior
le8ders.
Funding for a mentoring programme in partnershlp with Unr¥ersity of Ulster is secured. wilh a proposed start date of
April 2023, The programme will work viith young glrls aged belween 11 and 15.
Flnanclal review
Emerging from Ihe COVID 19 Pandemic and the vmr in Ukraine brought an unforeseeable 'cost of living crlsis.. As
result we have seen a surge in our running costs. It ￿MaInS our priority to absorb these increases for as long as
possible to support our members.
Londonderry YMCA Ltd remalns reliant on fvnding from the Educalion Authorlty to run our core, five nlght a week
youth aclivitles. The Education Authority also lunds the junior and senior youth summer programme in YMCA,
Tullyally and Cunynlerin. Project Spafk and Planned Intervention,
Funding Is also secured from a varlety agencies Including British Sclen¢e Association. Dery Clty and Slrabane
Dlslr(ct Council, ESB Wnd Fam, SSE Airtriaty, RAPID, The Honourable Irish Society and Waterside Neighborhood
Partnership which allows us to additional programmes lo achieve our objects.ves and contribute lo the increased
running cost5 of the facility.
Govemment support during the pandemic was received from the Department for Communlti&s in the fomi of the
Covid Recovery Fund. Additional to this, Ihe Job Retention Scheme continued wilh 2 members of staff on the
scheme until its closure on 30th September 2022.
The association Is situated on a 20 acre site with a storey, 500 Sq metre building and 8 300 Sq Melre Hub,
whlch makes up the majorlty of the value ol our assets.
The association generates some unrestricled income from Ihe hire of its faciltties lo Drumahoe ChildGare, Insfftute
Lease agreemenl and the park and ride lease agreement with the Roads SeNice.
Financial statements are produced independenty by PFS and Partners based in Limavady.
The association aims to hold in reserves equlvalent lo a minirnum of three months operatlonal costs and a
maxlmum of 24 months operational costs, to cover costs rf funding to the association is y￿thdrawn.
Reserves remain drfncuft lo accumulate with budgets continualty being squeezed and Ihe association coverlng the
increased njnning costs.

Structure, governance and management
Londonderry YMCA Limited Ltd is governed by a memorandum of As50aation adopted on 30th June 2018. The
organisation is controlled and direded by a board of directors currently made up of 6 members. In Ihe year we had
one resignation and one appointmenl to the board. The charity 15 a company limrted by guarantee.

guarantee lo conlribule £5 in the event of a winding up.
