St Ciaran’s Connected School PTA

Treasurer’s Report for April 01 2022 – March 31 2023

This period has been positive financially mainly due to the appointment of a funding co-ordinator.

The Income and Expenditure Report below shows St Ciaran’s Connected has reached the end of the financial year with a net surplus of £26,153.07.

Net Income:

Coffee Morning £2,500

Fundingsupport officer(started Dec 22) £720

Total £47157.81

Balance as per Bank Statement 01 April 2022 - £40,810.88

Balance as per Bank Statement 31 March 2023 - £26,153.07 (of this £15K is committed to a biodiversity garden).

We received a 2K grant from Slieve Divena 2 Windfarm which helped our outdoor learning facilities. Two outdoor table tennis tables were purchased.

A 5K grant from Tyrone Three Community Benefit Fund and 10K of a Living Spaces & Places Fund will develop a Biodiversity Garden (Completion Nov 23).

To enhance learning community and using a 2K grant from Fibrus Community Fund we added to our IT resources. 5 repurposed interactive whiteboards have been placed in classroom and 15 wireless dongles have been purchased. This expenditure is aligned to our strategic objective of using teacher surface pros effectively.

Kristen Nugent hosted a coffee morning following her success in the Springboard Future Chef National Final. The canteen staff held a cake and bun sale in March.

AB Coaching facilitated a successful basketball after school club. This was paid for by the participants.

The Easter Draw was well supported by the school community.

Our school admitted 151 Year 8 pupils for 2023/24. Two old girls’ changing rooms were redeveloped by AMD construction over the summer months. This was a significant investment by the school to ensure each teacher had their own room and that pupils were learning in appropriate surroundings. Including architect fees, construction and furniture the project cost 80K.

The continued success of St Ciaran’s Connected is due to the commitment and drive of the

committee. One of the priorities of St Ciaran’s is to maintain and strengthen St Ciaran’s position as a school connected to its parents and wider community. To promote greater community involvement we have a ‘St Ciaran’s Connected’ group. The idea behind the group is to ‘tap’ into the skills and expertise which our community has, to further benefit the education of the children at St Ciaran’s. The benefits of the group include developing effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school by engaging in activities or providing facilities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Accounts will now be independently examined and filed with the Charity Commision NI.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved for their efforts in the past year and wish the committee every success in their fundraising going forward.
