CRJ Ltd. Trustees Report 23 / 24.

During the period 2023/2024 CRJ have had many challenges in relation to anti-community behaviour, illegal and destructive bonfires, increase in substance misuse / abuse with several people across the city losing their lives. Our staff have been proactive in working with all agencies and community organisations developing new action plans as part of our community safety strategy and involving the local communities where possible, providing information sessions and awareness initiatives, CRJ volunteers have been very much at the heart of these.

During this period, we carried out a very visual campaign to highlight services CRJ Ltd provide, this included billboards and leaflet drops, several media interviews were carried out and from this action we found an increase in local mediation work. We were successful in resolving many issues before they escalated, and some had been referrals from the police and other agencies.

CRJ will continue to work in partnership with all agencies and groups to help improve the health and well-being, safety and relationship building within our communities, tackling criminality and substance problems whenever possible, involving residents and young people to help design and implement positive actions that will benefit everyone in our society.

We will continue to add to and strengthen our board in the future and provide training and support for our manager and staff, we are coming out of a very difficult period and will take advice and guidance from our funders to put in place relevant and up to date robust governance arrangements that will provide security and stability going forward.
