TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 1[st] April 2025 – 31[st] March 2026

ACHIEVEMENTS/ OUTPUT

Special Delivery NI has produced and delivered 36 postnatal and 20 prenatal gift boxes to hospitals throughout Northern Ireland during Financial Year 4 :- 01/04/25 – 31/03/26.

ABOUT SPECIAL DELIVERY NI

Postnatal gift boxes include ‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’ book, gifts for mothers, shower gel, bath salts a candle etc and gifts for the new baby, baby grow, comforter, nappy cream, hand knit cardigan, hat and blanket etc. A congratulations card from me with my contact details should they wish to talk to someone who has been in their situation.

The prenatal gift boxes also contain a ‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’ book along with gifts for expectant mothers, hand cream, a moisturising face mask etc and a scan frame, booties for baby. This to has a congratulations card with my contact information.

These gifts have been chosen to provide positive, up to date information for parents and families when they receive a Down syndrome diagnosis.

IMPACT AND BENEFIT

Healthcare professionals have stated they appreciate the boxes and find them a useful resource when patients receive a Down syndrome diagnosis.

The feedback from parents receiving the gift boxes is also extremely positive. The boxes have reassured anxious parents about the realities of having a baby with Down syndrome today.

DEVELOPMENTS

Special Delivery NI continues to include items from Harmony Studio. Candles, bath salts and soaps handmade by people with physical and learning disabilities in Northern Ireland. These are high quality items and reinforced our ethos. It is my hope that new parents will also realise their child can grow up and fulfill their potential and lead happy lives.

FUNDRAISING

Special Delivery NI received £1539 from a fundraiser held by Bazaar Voice, a software company in Belfast. This was initiated by an employee who has a child with Down syndrome.
