For The Year Ended 30 June 2023
Ick8round and Purpose
St Comgall's Youth Club Ithe clubl has been operating for well over 40 year5 and from a range of buildin8S.
Throughout thls perlod. it ha5 been providing a ser¥ice for the young people of Antrim and surrounding
areas.
Our purpose is to further the personal, social. educational and spiritual development of all chiklren and
young people without distinction, with the object of enriching their lives in a safe and appropriate
environment and to encourage them to have artive and re¥￿nSible participation in their community and
society.
In 2016 the dub moved into the newly refurbished St Corngalfs Youth Centre whith offers an excellent
fa¢illty providing access to a hall. outdoor areas and se¥eral smaller rooms suitable for artslcraftsl
computer games, board games etc. The Youth Centre also has a well-equipped kitchen. pool tsble area.
tuck shop, office and meeting areas.
In 2021 the club became a reglstered charity ￿ryth our operating year running from l July to 30 June. We are
a part-time club, open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The Cowd 19 pandemic had a 5e¥ere impart on our operational capabillty and the club was mainly c105ed
through 2020. rwpening in a phased capacity from September 2021. The dub received fijndlng from the
Blg Lottery Awards for All which supported our'bounce bacy programme. The Trurtees would like to extend
a bi8'thank you, to the Lottery as with their support the dub 15 well on its way to returning to tts pre
pandemic prowsion. However, challenges remain.
Historically the club have received funding frorn the Education Authority IEA) mainly for salary costs,
alongside a few other funder5 following successful funding applications. Wrth changes to EA strategy, in
2022123 the club became primarily self-funding.
Towards the end of 2022123 the Trustees made the strategic decision to trial a new operating model. moving
to being a volunteer lead youth club. This decision was made primarily due to reductions in funding and
challenges in recruiting a youth worker to a part-time youth club leader role.

of parents have come forward to volunteer and at the same time the skills of the young leaders
have continued to develop and grow. At the end of 2022123 we are certainly in a stronger
position and look forward to offering more opportunity for groW(h and fun for members in the
coming years.

Reserves polky
The trustees would like to build up reseries to allow the charity to be in a position where it could
comfortably deal wih any unforseen circumstsnces. Idealty they have set this level at between
