**Purposes:** The Association is established (a)  to provide a local educational resource, (b) to promote and preserve the culture and heritage of local people, in particular those who reside in the Mountfield district area, (c) to promote cultural confidence and civic pride, bolster morale of the community and harness the abilities of local people, (d)to facilitate the examination, exploration and appreciation by all of Ulster-Scots history, heritage and culture in an open and positive manner to encourage mutual understanding.
