Minutes from previous AGM 8 November 2022
The minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 8 November 2022 were read and agreed to be an accurate record of the meeting. Adoption of minutes proposed by John McElroy and seconded by Joe Murphy.
Chairperson’s Report
The chairman began by acknowledging the passing of community members in the past 12 months - many who were great supporters of Lislea Community Association.
The chairman then discussed developments in funding, the various fundraising events that were held throughout the year, CDCRN, Hall bookings, Youth Clubs and all the other various activities that have taken place in 2022/2023.
Secretary’s Report
The secretary began by acknowledging the hard work and commitment of all the committee members, and the local community and volunteers who were involved throughout the year. Again secretary covered important developments and various events that had taken place in 2022/2023.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer circulated a summary statement detailing the income/expenditure for the past twelve months (1 Sept 2022 - 31st August 2023). He highlighted a considerable increase in utility costs and a 10% increase in insurance. On the positive this has been offset by the increased income derived from the hire of the Centre. It is expected that there will be a decrease next year in electricity costs following the installation of the voltaic Solar Panels. As discussed the Treasurer will produce interim accounts for 31st March 2024 and going forward annual accounts on a financial year basis, first complete year 1st April 2024 - 31st March 2025. Financial year accounts management is the preferred method by funders and the Charity Commission. The Treasurer thanked DMC Bookkeeping for their continued advice and assistance with regards to managing the accounts and HMRC returns.
The adoption of Lislea Community Association Accounts was proposed by Sinead Murphy and seconded by S éan Cunningham.
Programme Coordinator Update Report
Kate’s report revealed a very busy year of organising and activities and also outlined all the funding achieved.

Welcome from the new chairperson
The Chairperson expressed gratitude to all for their continued support in retaining him as chairperson. He congratulated Brian, Ciara and Mary on their new roles and wished the incoming committee every success in the forthcoming year. He gave special thanks to Liam who was stepping down as Vice Chairperson and congratulated him in his new role as the new Chairperson of the ADCI.
