Increasing public understanding of this cancer Promotlng awareness of tho cancer's signs and symptoms by both medical professionals and members of the public Funding vltal reseafch Supporting patients and Ihelr families NIPANC has its roots In a group of people affected by pancreatlc cancèr coming iogether for support and to raise funds to promole better dlagnosis and treatment for futuro patients. The Irustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commlssion in deciding what activities Ihe charity should untJertake. Achlevements and performanca The past buslness year has been a time of steady growth and consolidation for NIPANC. During thls per6od, it h88 achieved considerable success in progressing work on Its three main business 9081s: ralsing public awareness of Pancreall¢ Cancer, funding necessary research and supporting the families of those affected. During the year. the charity has conslder8bty raised its game in communicating effectively with the public in Northem Ireland through a professional focused use of public relations and social media plafftirms. NIPANC'S published infomiation has also been helpful to Pancr¢allc Cancer patients and their families. Bullding on Its very successful 'Time Matter. campaign In 2021, NIPANC achieved even greatèr public vislbllity through Its 2022 follow-on 'TIme Matters. campaign. This drew on Ihe testimonies of children who had suffered loss through Pancreatic Cancer to increase publlc awarenes5 of the condition, Its symptoms, and the iMportae of early réferral. The SU&8 of NIPANC'S public awarèness campaigns was reflected in the steady Increase in the number of Individual, family and wrporat8 donors. who ralsed money during the year to support the charities key objectlvos. Thanks to thk8 funding NIPANC was able to finan¢6 an Important Clinical audit of the experlences of PancTe8tic Cancer patients in 2019 and 2020, due to report in Spring 2023. The audii's prellmlnary flndlngs indicate that the audit will be Invaluable in focusing targetsd research going forward. NIPANC also developed a close working relationship with Queen's Unfversity Belfast and Focus Game$, fundlng and developing the first digltal game to promote public awareness about pan¢reatic cancer. The game app was launched durlng Pancreatic C8ncer Awareness month in November 2022. Buildlng on the early success of this initialive. NIPANC h8$ commissioned a more advanced and clinlcally focused version, directed 8t health professionals, to be launched in 2023. NIPANC continues to provide support for affected families but recognises that this Is an are8 which will require greater input going forward. We are currently exploring how to provide more effective support to families, complementing statulory provlsion.

OveTrll, a very successful year but stlll much to be done! Flnanclal revlaw The incorne for the pgriod was £257,645 and expenditur8 was £58.231. Thls1gav8s a surplus of £199,414. It Is the policy of the charity that unrestrfcted funds which have not been d68ignatsd for a 8pecÈfic use should be maintained at a level equlvalent to b8tween threo and six month's expenditure. Th8 trustees considers that reserves at this level will ensur6 Ih8L in the evont of a signlfic8nt drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while con8ideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. Thi$ level of reseryes has been m8inl8ined IhrDUghout the year. The tru81ees have assessed the malor risks to which the charity Is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.
