I would like to acknowled8e and value the contrlbutlon of our external partnefs, especlally our maln
funder Strathfoyle Vlllage Centre Ltd. We are also very 8rateful for the funds awarded to us
Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Hallfax, Apex Housln8 Assoclation, Derry City and Strabane
Distrlrt Councll, Western Health and 5oclal Care Trust, Rural Area Partnership In Derry and
Department of A8rlculture, Environment and Rural Affalrs. These funds are vltal to ensure we can
contlnue to provlde and extend our programme of work for our communlty.
I wish to cL)mmend the work of our staff, management commltlee, Dlrectors, Trustees and
volunteers for thelr support and commltment durlD8 the past year.
I would Ilke to thank all the resldents for thelr contlnued support and dedlcation to thls communlty
and its development.
Our summer festival was Qui best to date. Our fun day brought in the bl88est attendance we've
ever had wlth almst 500 residents attendln8 on the day. This brou8ht smlles to the faces of
chlldren throu8hout the area. We also held a party for chlldren wlth addltlonal needs makln8 thls
vearfs festlval our most Incluslve yet. Our festival would not have been posslble wlthout the sUPPOrt
from NIHE Coheslon Unit who once alain awarded funding towafds the cost5 of our events.
We tontinue to provlde our rneals on wheels service to the elderly and vulnerable withln the
community 5 days perweek for a subsidised rnte. OurAdvlce Northwest outreach Serv1￿ 15
available in our premises every Thursday from 14:00- 16:&), by appointment onlv.
Local 8roups came together at Chrlstmas to hold several event5 Includin8 a chlldren's party, a vlsit
from Santa to turn on the Chrlstmas Tree Ilghts and our annual Older Peoples Dinner Dance atThe
Belfray Country Inn. These events would not have been possible wlthout the help of Apex Housing
Association who covered the costs of the events. We also or8ani5ed a Christma5 Craft Fair In
Strathfoyle Youth Centre. This wa5 a 8reat event with a varlety of Chrlstmas Items on offer at great
prlces.
l am lookln8 for•vard to another successful year as Chalrperson of Strathfoyle Community
Assoclation Ltd and the lurther development of this community in the comlng years.
