Governance and management

Subject to the matters set out below the Association and its property shall be administered and managed in accordance with its constitution by the members of the Management Committee. Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer

Aims and objectives

The organisation is established to advance education, to promote public appreciation and participation in the visual and performing arts, and especially the art of photojournalism and documentary photography, drama, performance and music, and to use the visual and performing arts as a means to promote good citizenship and good community relations on the island of Ireland, the UK and beyond.

Summary of the main financial position during the period 2022-2023

Year 2022-2023 has seen the third sector relating to APAC’s activity recover in funding availability. Support from a possible five different funding bodies in Ireland and the UK increased by two in 2022- mainly from Art Council England support and the Heritage Fund NI. Support was also helped through personal donations to the association from “Friends of Apac” which amounted to £1700.

The five funding bodies are still in place and APAC expects to resume receiving funding in March 2024. The association will concentrate on developing its online and on site exhibition capabilities over the course of 2024. This will help the association to involve communities from hard to reach areas in Northern Ireland. APAC will increase activity to consolidate its network with the 26 Camera clubs in NI to help achieve its aim to expand its reach and influence within the community.
