Covid has had a massive impact on Abbey Allsorts with isolation resulting in the organisation being unable to meet due to the specific needs of and the risks faced by the attendees. During this time a lot of the attendees reached an age were the group didn’t meet their needs and new members were unable to attend due to restriction.
Due to health reasons the former treasurer was unable to continue in the role. As a result and with some Trustees resigning access to the bank account was not possible. With the support and assistance of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council all non-vouchered for grants were repaid. The bank has closed the bank account and any remaining monies returned by cheque.
2024: Four new Trustees have come forward and completed all necessary paperwork. A set off accounts has been completed to reflect the current financial situation. The group will be recommencing with the support of the new Trustees and has been restricted to meet the needs that still exist and have grown post covid and during the economic crisis that the community is facing.
