Trustees' Annual Report

The Management Committee (Trustees) present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 May 2025. The Trustees who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page 1. The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis.

Objectives

The objective of the Charity is to advance the amateur sport of Association Football amongst children and young people within the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council Area

.

Activities

Glenavon Youth Academy facilitate sporting and community activity for young people from across

N. Ireland, particularly across Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon.

In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit at our management committee (Trustee) meetings.

;

The focus of our activities remains providing development specific football coaching and to develop social responsibility of the young people via community development initiatives. We continue to build the capacity and capability of our coaches to ultimately maximize the effectiveness of the service provided to our members.

Our membership is open to people from all backgrounds regardless of faith, gender or personal circumstances.

Achievements

We now have teams over 12 age groups playing football each week with a total membership now in excess of 180 lead by a 45 person volunteer team.

.

Our older teams are all competing at the highest level of youth football in N Ireland. With player development our main focus, we are delighted to see 2 of our players progress to full-time professional football in England, with another 3 x 16 year olds signing contracts with our senior team - along with another 4 x 16 years training regularly with the senior team. Finally, visits to professional Academies in England were organised this year - with trips to Chelsea, Aston Villa, Norwich City, Ipswich Town and Hull City undertaken over the course of the year.

,

Financial Review

Total receipts were £290.9k and payments were £168.2k giving a surplus of £122.7k for the year under review. We are delighted to see income relating to development fees being received. This income highlights the high quality player that is being developed within the Academy. It has been agreed that all Development Fee income will be ringfenced to fund a new Training Facility.
