STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Mackey Estate (Cwmlin EPC) is governed by the will of AndTew Park Mackey dat¢d 21, Deceinber 1989.
Registration with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland was Completed on 15, December 2020.
llke Trustees of The Mackey Eslaie are Ihe elders and deacons of Crllm lin EPC, and are therefore appointed by
means of elder and deacon elections, voted for by the membership of Crumlin EPC, and in line with the procedures
and requiren)ents of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, All Trustees give of their time treely and no Trugtee
I'emuneration was paid durinb) the year. During the year there were nine Trustees who had overall responsibility
for the charity and ils governance. Five Trustee meetings were held during the year.
DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
The charitable purpose is that the fund5 are to be used by Crumlin EvanLTelical Presbyterian Church for the work
it carries on as the Elders and Deacons Board thereof for the time being shall in Eheir absolute discretion decide
appropriate.
AC.TIVITIES AND OILIECTIVES
The Mackey Estate is used to support the work of Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian C,hurch, both by helping to
facil itate th¢ local ministry of the church, aiid also by s¢ndin& financial lielp lo partner churches and mission
organisalions as needs arise.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMAINCE
The Mackey Estate coniinucs to provide for the general Iipkeep and mainlenanLe of the building and grounds
belotigiTig lo Crurnliii EPC, aiid various costs related lo th¢ maintenance of church property, siich as gr&ss cutting,
cleaning, and geiierul repairs. The eslalL also provides funding foi- Ihe heating and lighting of the building in order
to facilitate the weekly church service5 and oiher ministries taking place in the cliurch buildinby throughout the
week, as well as providing financial support for the rnini51ry of Crumlin EPC both in its local context and through
associated inission work.
Income to the Mackey Estate during 2024 came from the fullowing sources: the rent that accrued from the
agricultural land that 15 rented out totalled £5,040 tor the year, along witli £255 throuuih Way Leav¢. Investments
increased in value by a lotsl of £204,559 over the course of the year, of which £20,000 was withdrawn. The
Tiustees of the Mackey Eslate meet wilh a financial advisor on an annual basis in order to be updated on the
investments and receive relevant advice for how to manage the fiinds responsibly.
Throughout 2024, the tmstees met on tive occasions lo discuss the work of the Mackey Estate. Money was used
to help facilitate the work of Crllmlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church, including £5,000 to fund provision of
emergency rnedical cal'e for an associated minister in the United States. In addition lo this the Mackey Estate was
also Able to help support some mission parthers, with £1,000 donated to the work of Middle East Reformed
Fellowship, £2,000 to the work of Daylight Christian Prison Trust, £l.000 to support Dumisani Theological
Institute, and £1,000 to Frontier5 Ireland.
The Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's Public Benefjt requirement.

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The direct benefits that flow from Ihis purpose are the encouragement of participation ID beneficial activities
within our own community in Crumlin and throughout the world, resulting in improved spiritual wellbeing and a
greater knowledge of the Christian faith, as well as the practical outworking of this in the lives of those reached.
These benetits are evidenced by the numerou5 church building projects that The Mackey Estate has helped to fund
not only in Crurnlin but throughout Ireland and across the world: and the benefiis that result from these works as
they bring positive influence to Ih¢ir coinniunities. Locally, The Mackey Estate is used to facilitate the upkeep of
the churcli prL'mises in Crumlin, and promote the ministry of the church_ These benefits are also evidenced by
reports that M'e receive fi'orn Ihose we have helped, and also independeiit evaluation of whar is beino doT]e by
others. When considering ivhich works to support, care is taken to ensure tliat there is no harni in doing so, and
that the money is used to brin&* needed help. Beneficiaries of The Mackey Estate are any who are helped through
the ministry of Crumlin F.van&Felical Presbyterian Church, or any of the other works to which we have given
support. There 15 no private benefit flowingi trom the purpose of The Ma¢key Estote.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
In the yearended 31, December 2024 the charity had total income of £5,295 compared with £5,053 in the previous
year.
Total expenditure decreased from £76,340 in 2023 to £58,660. The main reasons for this rediiction were a de.crease
in the level of funijing to Crumlin Evangelical Presbyierian Church and reduction in Ihe level ot investment
portfolio managernent fees,
At the end of the period the charity had net assets of £3,007,463 including cash at bank of £1,054.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statemei)ts of the rharity in
ac¢ordan¢e with appliuable law and generally accepted accounting practice.
As the charity's total income does not exceed £?50,000, the Trustees have elected under Section 64(3) of the
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to prepare a receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and
liabilities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are siiffi¢ient to show and explain the
charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time its financial position. They ar¢ also
responsible for saf¢guarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable step5 for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.

presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unLisual items or disclosures in the accounts,

BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
As the total income of the charity is less than £250,000 the charity's Trustee5 has elected in accordance with the provisions in
The Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 to prepare its accounts on a receipts and payments
basis.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Unrestricted funds are income funds which are to be spent or applied al the discretion of the trustee5 to further any of the charity's
purposes. Designated fijnds are general funds set aside by the charity for Lise in the future.

5. TANGIBLF. FIXED ASSETS
The tangible fixed assets of the Charity comprise of 42 acres of agricultural land at £735,000.
Details of historical costs are not available with the land being included in the balance sheet at a current market valuation
estimated by the Trustees. No depreciation has been provided on these assets. This is reviewed on an annual basis by the Trustees.

maintenance expenses and to conlribule toward% the church's doiialions oulwards. Both ¢harities have common trustees.
